Graphic Cards Last minute 8800GTX help...

BTW, whats the warranty on this beast? my MSI 9800Pro only had 1 year :(

3 years...besides the PCB is nvidia made, that's why I was a little adventurous, else it'd have been EVGA.

What say you guys? Pls hurry...
 
dude go for it, the card looks good. Though eVGA step up program is a big advantage, but u cannot avail it here I guess, also with a 8800GTX 768Mb, u wont need it....
 
it wud certainly be a great buy and more so if you can avail the mail-in rebate. btw is your friend gonna bring it in person or courier it?
 
Get EVGA instead.. Pretty good results .. :) and 10 year US warranty is worth if you have relatives over there ;) SO my recommendation is EVGA :)
 
Reference card or not, for quality reasons I'd pick an eVGA over it... $40 is a small price to pay for superior quality and warranty. I've used this example before: an eVGA 6800GT I bought over 3 years ago is still working flawlessly, but Nikhil and Sandy's BFG cards crapped out after a year I guess. And while both cards you're looking at are reference cards, I believe eVGA has a very rigorous testing process while selecting them (just like OCZ).

^^pal no offense but you may wanna check my siggy. I already bought an HX620w for this card and the new rig, and have no need of a PSU...

eVGA needs to have rigorous testing if they are gonna be offering lifetime warranty, else they'll drown their money in providing replacement cards to d customers.

Still, MSI is a good brand, and for something like a 8800GTX a company wont cut down on testing to save a few bux (hopefully).

Point being : easy accesss to US Market : close your eyes and go the eVGA way. Else you are pretty much in the same boat.
 
I would agree with whtever Rio said.

Evga has its quality. :D not coz i m using one, but i have seen millions of happy users of Evga.

I disagree, eVGA has built a brand that is hard to rival - if MSI and others followed the same rigorous testing as eVGA, wouldn't they be in the same league? ;) This time I went with an OCZ after chatting with one of their employees on XS, who confirmed their cards are handpicked.
 
Okie- weird example/comparison but here is one to expplain how i get my stuff- and i never went wrong with it- touchwood.

Quality- over quantity and more warranty- anyday.:ohyeah:

My dad planned getting Orpat cfl lamps as it had 1 yr warranty.
I told him to get philips but he was hesitant as Philips only had 6 months then.
so we got one of each for trial.

Within a month or 2, the Orpat dimmed, half the tube from the base wouldnt glow and it started flickering after that.
The philips didn't even dim a bit.

The Orpat is now resting in the junk loft and all cfls at home are Philips- as bright as the day when bought- even the very first one and its almost 2 yrs or more iirc.:D

And BTW, the warranty is applicable only if the lamp is dead- nit if it is dim or flickering.:rofl:

And in this case, EVGA also has more warranty- so a no brainer for me.:P

Thanks deeps... I noticed the "point" you made, very valid one. Which is why I've mailed him saying EVGA. I nearly went for the super clocked EVGA one :P

What i didn't say was Dad did get one more from another dealer to make sure it wasn't the issue- Orpat was also much cheaper na.:rofl:

That one doesnt flicker but is much dimmer now with only about half the tube glowing. and it's been relegated to the loo.:lol:

And if you check side by side, the Orpat isn't as white and bright as the Philips on day one.:)

Ohh and i said stoopid comparo but just wanted to say Quality anyday.:P

I have confirmed EVGA and my friend was shocked as he'd seen both links. Quote "Abe kya hua? This damn card is clocked higher, and better bundle, 40 US cheaper, WTF???"

aaah.... what a nice feeling. Someone rubbing salt and pepper and chillies into an open wound. :P

Just for the record, mine crapped out after abt 2 yrs.
 
LOL, but I thought that wound already healed :D Didn't mean to rub salt but thanks for correcting my statement... I was never sure if that happened after a year or more :P

lol... of course you didnt :P Was kidding.

The wound actually is still open coz BFG sent me a defective replacement card. Same thing happened to Sandy too.

Now, we both have sent our cards and hopefully this time, we get working cards back.
