Latest ver of ZoneAlarm freezes system on startup and shut down ?

I just installed the latest Zone Alarm ( free ) firewall v60_667_000.

I find that on Windows ( Me ) start up and shut down, the system "freezes" for 30 to 45 secs and then proceeds as usual.

Has anyone else noticed this, or is there something wrong with my system ?
 
same prob.. here poboy for that matter even when i used open some program.. it used to hang for 30-45 sec and then start i think it has to do with their new security function was a fan of z.a but the latest version is crap have uninstalled it and am now using outpost firewall latest ver.

I had a problem with this same version of Zone Alarm which I mentioned in this thread...

but my computer does not pause it just carries on and I get an error in Event Viewer about this as my system does not give Zone Alarm enough time to shut gracefully. :@ I went back to an earlier version of ZoneAlarm and no more errors.
 
hey guys,

well good 2 knw every1 agrees 1 thing though, zonealarm sucks. i am using mcafee desktop firewall ver 8.5, try this 1 out its good real good and if u good at configuring a FW then u may enjoy using this one a bit longer.
 
Zone Alaram gave me some problems too, it seems as if ZA scans or something. My steam won't start nor will my Msn and when i am into some game, boom Msn logins and i am in Desktop.

Btw still to be frank ZA insipie of it's faults is too good.
