Lenovo is adding dual-core support to its new lineup of notebook computers. The company has already introduced the C100 series notebooks which feature Celeron-M and Pentium-M processors. They are aimed at the entry-level market. The new N100 notebooks, however, can be equipped with Intel's Core Solo or Core Duo processors and are aimed at business professionals.
We designed the Lenovo 3000 N100 with mobile small business customers in mind, understanding their need for a powerful, yet easy-to-use notebook," said Marc Godin, vice president of worldwide marketing, Lenovo's notebook business unit. "With the N100, we wanted to create a notebook that helps make our customers work more efficiently and effectively. The N100's widescreen display, dual-core processor and Lenovo Care tools help create a powerful, worry-free computing experience.
Specs :

The N100 weighs in at 5.6 pounds and can be equipped with a 14.1" (1280x768) or 15.4" widescreen (1280x800, 1,680x1,050) display. Graphics options include the integrated Intel GMA950 and NVIDIA's GeForce Go 7300. The N100 features 802.11a/b/g support, 10/100 Ethernet, 4-in-1 multi-card reader, four USB ports, FireWire, S-Video and has options for Bluetooth, integrated webcam and a fingerprint reader.

Launch & Price :

The N100 will be available on March 28th with a starting price of $999. For those of you eager to see the N100 in action, you can see CNET's review complete with a video and additional pictures here. They rated their $1,400 1.83GHz Core Duo model 6.7 out of 10.

Dell 2407WFP

The new Dell 2407WFP is already available on the Dell Japan website (english) with specifications and prices.

Dell accidentally leaked specifications for the UltraSharp 2007WFP and 2007FP displays on the US website a few days ago. The 3007WFP display was announced earlier this year, and the new 2407WFP rounds off the pack. Rather than go with LG.Philips LCD (LPL) for the whole lineup, Dell opted for the Samsung LCD LTM240M2 panel -- just as the company did with the 2405FPW display.
Specs & Features:

Panel 24" TFT LCD
Pixel Pitch 0.258mm
Luminance 500 nits
Contrast Ratio 1000:1
Response Time 6ms GTG, 16ms TrTf
Resolution 1920 x 1200
Inputs DVI HDCP, D-sub, S-Video, component, 9-1 card reader, USB
Price Japan ¥157,500 about $1,400 US

Dell Japan claims a 6ms response time on this 24" 1920x1200 beast. This is an unusual move for Dell since the company usually claims very conservative response times on panels, especially considering the manufacturer claims a 8ms response time.

Specification discrepancies aside, the 2407WFP is still a killer display. We would be hard pressed to find a display with all of the inputs but Dell went one step further to also include a 9 in 1 card reader as well. The 2407WFP may also come with optional 10W speakers.

Launch :

Dell is expected to announce the new display (along with the 2007WFP and 2007FP) before the end of the month.
