Hi people...

I've almost made up my mind to buy a lcd... the only question i'm facing is just how much of a quality hit does a lcd take at non native resolutions ( wrt games ) .

What has your personal experience been ? Are there any pics available ??

I was playing Fear at non native res (my native res cannot be set ingame) and I have'nt seen any dramatic loss in quality. But then my LCD is 16.2 mil and it seems that itself is quite a loss in comparison to 16.7 mil colours :) . Whatever, I have'nt noticed any dramatic loss in quality. I have'nt tried playing at very low (800x600) on my LCD, but 1024x768 ran quite fine. Btw, my native's 1280x1024.

heh.... exactly wt i wanted to ask... i too m plannin to get an LCD
that ASUS PW191 which has resolution of 1440x900 wide screen ...
so whoevers got an LCD... does it really affect the picture quality when reducing the resolution fom 1440x900 to 1024x768??????

Games are the only thing that run fine though I prefer running everything at native cos all the UI text gets a bit blurred.

In Games, theres no real difference.

But Text, is blurred and sometimes unreadable @ Lower than Native Reso's...

Thanks people....So , games do run fine - I will run everything else at native res. - the only query was regarding games...

I'm planning to buy Samsung 740N - has got some very good reviews...
