Personal Reveiw

PROS

comfy keyboard,
pleasant screen with good viewing angles
low temperature body with quiet fans
rubberized track-pad
good webcam(even if 0.3mp)
4.0 bluetooth
clear and well positioned mic.
usb 3.0
it has a quick boot up and snazzy speed in working mode
one touch back up mode
built quality is good for the price(not exceptional when compared to higher end laps)
CONS

glossy screen
one input option for both mic and headset(buy a headset with mic)if you need.
body is a finger print magnet
track-pad keys make clicky sound when used

to weigh the pros and cons,i surely would suggest this lap to many.
even if it comes with DOS,thanks to Lenovo for the Win 7 driver CD,helped a ton.

Thanks for the input . Is the palm rest area also finger print magnet ??

yes it does get the prints on but not very visible unless in high lighting.
its not visible on direct view but on angled range.

the color of the lap is a chocolate brown shade.

flipkart increased it price today uptu 35500, very bad, planning to buy this next week from retail store from lenovo store in sec 18, after a small email got to know that model is available for 3350 there

But why do you need a mic?
I believe most laptops have a mic near the Webcam.

Correct me if i am wrong.
for casual chatters the integrated mic is suffcient.
in case of those who prefer or require better voice unhindered by background sounds.

UPDATE on review :

the keyboard still feels plush and nice to use.
track-pad is spot on and errors or false inputs hardly occur.
the power cord is realll long compared to dell's.i
the fan runs quiet and haven't experienced heating even after hours of usage.

the cam isnt that good in dim lighting.
the charging cord does tend to entangle.

Hi,
Just bought the Lenovo G580 (with 1GB GeForce)
As mentioned earlier, camera and build quality is average.
Played Battlefield3 and NFS Run (medium settings @ full resolution) awesome performance for a budget Laptop.
Amazingly quiet, no heating up issue. My cooling pad stays unused.
Good speakers.
Good value for money.
