Around 8 years old. No cable connection, so only used for the occasional Netflix etc with a roku stick.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but expecting 20k for a previous Gen “Plasma” TV is not possible. My Dad had a plasma tv too, either no one wants to buy or you’d get a max offer for 5k. Best is to keep as spare or donate it. GLWS!!

Edit: Also plasma tubes have a max lifespan of 10 years. Considering the age you’ve posted, it’s lifespan remaining would be 2 years. My Dads plasma TV is still around and used by workers, which is about 10 years and yes there are problems arising. Just giving a heads up to interested folks.

And maybe you should also read the rules of the forum where it clearly says to make any price suggestions via PM only and not to crap the seller's thread.

Can you point me to this? I can't seem to find any such rule. In fact, in the past I have seen the mods say that posts helping the seller price their product correctly are allowed.

Also, OP, Jan '22 is just 2 months away. So the product is 10 years old, not 8 as mentioned in the post. But it doesn't matter since purchase date is mentioned.

Thanks much for the unsolicited advise. Great to hear from a guy who is such a great seller, that he has been bumping his sale thread for over 2 months, and has not yet sold the items.

Should I pay for said advise?
 
I don't see the need for the personal attack. Regardless of whether his tone was right or not, he was just pointing out mispricing. If you post a sale thread on a public forum, be prepared for some feedback, right or not. Getting defensive, resorting to ad hominem, and passive aggressive statements at the first message doesn't really show anyone in good light. You can very well say that you are not willing to sell below this price, regardless of how the market sees it.

As for the price suggestion, yes, your product is overpriced. If one has a choice between buying a new 50" 4k Smart TV from Vu for 35k and a 10 year old Full HD non-smart television with a technology which is pretty much obsolete in the consumer market for 20k, I guess the choice is obvious. Similar TVs on OLX are listed for 5-6k. So your product, your price, fine. But you can very well say that respectfully.

Well sorry to burst your bubble, but as I have pointed out above, it is against the rules to make a post against pricing suggestion unless you post a link to the same product selling at a lower price somewhere. Any price suggestions have to be made through PM. Only technical discussions which could help a buyer are allowed in a sale thread. Maybe you could read the rules instead of imposing your opinion or even just read a few posts above in the thread.

I don't know why people can't stop this price policing with no intention of buying. Let the buyer and seller sort it out amongst themselves. For what it's worth, I would have paid 20k for this TV if it was in my city or if I could find a secure way of shipping it. Comparing a Plasma to any of the cheapo LED Tvs of today, is just outright blasphemy in my opinion because of the huge difference in PQ. How do I know that? My 7 year old Samsung Plasma conked off in May 2020 and I tried a lot to get it repaired and then find a second hand replacement of the exact same model. Why did I do that? Because only an OLED TV at 1.2L was an upgrade. Every other LED TV, even with VA panels doesn't even come close to the blacks and the PQ on the whole. So there might not be a demand among the common folk for a Plasma these days, but there are people out there who know how great they are even compared to today's offerings.

Also, maybe it might be too long of a read for you, so I'll quote the relevant section from that thread as well, which I have done in another thread in the MP as well.

Any post which does not fall within the following category will be deleted and the user infracted.
Time Bump - Only the seller (or his specified representative in his absence) can bump the thread but no sooner than 24 hours since the last post
Price Bump - The seller (or his specified representative in his absence) can update the price with a new post
The sum of the number of price-bump and time-bump should not exceed one in a period of 24 hours. TE is not a reverse auction site either. So use your bump wisely.

Express interest - the prospect buyer must clearly express the intention to buy and can ask any relevant questions about the sale
Technical and Supportive - It should add value to the discussion between the seller and the prospective buyer (all suggestions and negotiations on asking price and market price must be done via PM)
Rule check - Sensitize the seller (thread starter) if he is breaking any market section rules

Users violating the market section rules will be awarded 5 infraction points for a period of 7 days. Beyond a total of 10 active points the user gets auto banned, so a consecutive violation within 7 days of last violation will lead to an auto ban.

Generally horizontal orientations are advised to be avoided with big plasmas. Like the in the picture on the bed.
