LG Optimus NET P690 -> Rs.9999 (available in India)

speed bump of 200 MHz, lighter by 5 grams, bumped up video recording, BT 3.0
seems to have dropped official DivX support' but we have always have moboplayer...
and 20 mb less internal storage...

nice update by LG, worthy successor

^Its also slimmer by ~1.6mm and now supports wi-fi n too. But on the -ve side the 3G speeds has dropped from HSDPA 7.2Mbps -> 3.6Mbps! Doesnt make much of a difference to us. But still.

It does make a difference.
3.6mbps is an outdated speed for 3g HSDPA.
the recent par standard set by nokia is 14mbps now. :p

Limited space for apps that reside in internal memory, although a lot of apps can be moved to sd card.

Does 150mb effect performance ?

Are there any restrictions as such which only allows to install apps only in internal memory ?
If yes then it sure does affect its ability to install a good no of apps. In that case is there any mod which nullifies that ? ;P

Read it after posting . . .

Even when you move apps to the SD card, a significant part of it remains on the internal memory. Also, apps can be moved on a non rooted phone, only if the app allows it to be moved. Every Android phone should have at least 300mb internal space for a hassle free experience.

I suffered with the paltry 141mb free internal memory of my HTC Desire for a long time. Even after moving apps to sd some part of it remains on the internal memory. This limits the number of apps and games you can install on your phone. Add to that compulsary updates tp system apps like market, maps, fb, adobe flash etc. Tired of this I finally took the plunge and rooted my phone and installed a custom ROM after making a 1gb ext partition on sd card. Now my apps are on that partition. But get this, internal memory still decreases with each app that you install. only not by as much as it used to previously.
