Android Lg v30 screen going on and off after 100% charge (with fast charger)

I just bought an Lg v30 and am facing this strange problem when charging with the supplied charger. After the charge reaches 100%, the phone screen wakes up every few seconds with a beep and then goes off.

When I connect to my PC USB port or an older samsung charger, I do not see the problem.

The phone is still within the 10 day exchange window and I was wondering what to do. Is this something that can be fixed by a software setting or does it point to a HW problem?

This could be a warning to remove the charger as its reached 100%?

It is. I see the "Unplug to save energy" notification. But I would expect to wake up once and then shut up. This one wakes up the screen every 10 secs.

Couldn't find it. There is no "Battery full" notification I can block. Google wasn't much help either.
