PC Peripherals Logitech Unifying vs Mini receiver

I just got the Logi Wireless Marathon Mouse M705 which has the Unifying receiver.

The MK250 combo has a Mini receiver.

a) Would the M705 work with the Mini receiver ?
b) Would the MK250 work with the Unifying receiver ?

I want to use the same KB + M with two PCs ( only one would be on at any given time ). So I would like to install the Unifying receiver on one PC and Mini receiver on the other, and then use the KB from MK250 and the M705.

Would this work ?
 
You can try but IMO it will not work.
As per logitech site, the unifying receiver works only with some supported products. better to check the site for the list of supported products.
 
actually the site is not too clear, at least acc to me. not sure if the uni rec will not work at all with other prods, or only the unifying function ( there is a seperate download for that ) will not work with other products.
if i want to only use the basic/default functions of a kb/m, will the mini rec work ?
