Hello everyone,
Up for sale are my trusty Logitech Z623 2.1 speakers. Bought in 2011. Around 2018 or so it developed the infamous Logitech switch crackle issue. Can someone please explain how to upload video here so I can upload the issue as on this unit? Meanwhile, here's a link to download the video I recorded.
I've worked around this problem by never touching the power or volume buttons. The unit is connected to my UPS, so physical on/off is handled by turning the UPS on and off. Once the unit is on, everything else is done via PC control. I once tried a fix I saw on YouTube, which resulted in the one of the power button clips breaking. It also fixed the problem... temporarily. It reappeared after a week or two and after having almost lost the power button once, I did not mess with it further. But other than the fact that the power button is now a little loose, everything is fine.
To be absolutely clear, if you don't touch the buttons, there is no crackling. If you do touch them, you have to fiddle around a bit for the crackling to stop. Once it stops, it won't restart unless you fiddle with the buttons again.
So overall, besides the crackling (which can be eliminated) and the fact that they are a little dusty, these are still an excellent set of speakers. Never had a problem soundwise, but I am not an audiophile. So I guess for the average user, these are awesome. Used them to game, watch movies and everything you usually use speakers for.
Unfortunately, as I do not have any packaging for this, and also because they're just too damn heavy, I will not be able to ship this. Local pickup only from my place. There are no other accessories or anything besides what you see in the pics.
As always, please feel free to educate me on price, or anything else for that matter. Always happy to learn.
