Reason for Sale
Buying new speakers
Hello everyone,

Up for sale are my trusty Logitech Z623 2.1 speakers. Bought in 2011. Around 2018 or so it developed the infamous Logitech switch crackle issue. Can someone please explain how to upload video here so I can upload the issue as on this unit? Meanwhile, here's a link to download the video I recorded.

I've worked around this problem by never touching the power or volume buttons. The unit is connected to my UPS, so physical on/off is handled by turning the UPS on and off. Once the unit is on, everything else is done via PC control. I once tried a fix I saw on YouTube, which resulted in the one of the power button clips breaking. It also fixed the problem... temporarily. It reappeared after a week or two and after having almost lost the power button once, I did not mess with it further. But other than the fact that the power button is now a little loose, everything is fine.

To be absolutely clear, if you don't touch the buttons, there is no crackling. If you do touch them, you have to fiddle around a bit for the crackling to stop. Once it stops, it won't restart unless you fiddle with the buttons again.

So overall, besides the crackling (which can be eliminated) and the fact that they are a little dusty, these are still an excellent set of speakers. Never had a problem soundwise, but I am not an audiophile. So I guess for the average user, these are awesome. Used them to game, watch movies and everything you usually use speakers for.

Unfortunately, as I do not have any packaging for this, and also because they're just too damn heavy, I will not be able to ship this. Local pickup only from my place. There are no other accessories or anything besides what you see in the pics.

As always, please feel free to educate me on price, or anything else for that matter. Always happy to learn.

Isn't the price toooo high considering a) its 13 years old! b) there is crackling c) cosmetically they look their age?
I bought this speaker set 4.5 years ago for 7k new. So yeah OP is kinda expecting a lot lol

Ahh well, I went off Amazon pricing so... But like I said in the post, always happy to be educated. Either of you folks interested?

EDIT: Oops, forgot to mention new price, considering the objections; 4.5K picked up.

Lmao true. I bought the same speaker 10+ years ago for around same price. OP was definitely trying to make profit out of it.
Also given its condition, and how old it is, it is a thing to be given away now for free i believe. Just my thoughts.
I don't think anything wrong here. Why don't you create some giveaway thread for your potato pc mate. Or are you so poor and thinking to get speaker free for yourself.

AFAIK you can't buy these speakers today for under 10k, anywhere. The sound quality of these speakers alone definitely doesn't warrant them to be "given away for free", no matter the age.

Thank you for being reasonable. But to be fair, they are on point regarding the crackling and cosmetic issues, which I have already highlighted anyway. And which is also why the price was reduced from something that was already quite decent... or so I assumed.

Regardless, as I always say, am always happy to be educated about the price, or anything else for that matter, whether in the thread or by PM. But at this moment I think it's important to add the caveat, am always happy to be respectfully educated about the price.

That being said, price still stands at 4.5K picked up. Shipping is absolutely not possible since I do not have the box, nor any protective material for safe packaging even if I were to find a different box that was large enough to fit this. And again, if there is an issue with price, like I said, respectful discussions are always welcome, whether in the thread or by PM.

Ok I’ve known Ajish for a while now and had multiple trades with him, so while your insinuation has some grounds, I will tell you that he’s always been reasonable, transparent, upfront and accommodative. GLWS

Appreciate the support. Thanks.

And like you said, I have been transparent about the issues from the beginning. Not like I was hiding them.
