doesn't matter to me...inform me when any indian city will host olympic games

it was a grt race though...
though i feel london always had the edge with the multi cultural society. The only reason paris was front runner was cos london started late/...

anyway i hope to be there in london in 2012 :P :tongue:
 
I watched the whole coverage on BBC.. it was good :hap2: ..nailbitting finish indeed..wonder when India will get a chance to host.. :tongue: ( I know ...its a very very long way to go )

Its better if its not hosted over here.We have too many problems to think of....the money can be used for that purposes...

Anyways it also doesnt make sense India has the lowest per capita medal :huh: :huh: :huh: ie 1:10,00,00,000+....what difference does it make whether it plays or not:S:S:S
 
actiually olympics brings with it a large employment, money and infrastructure.
The perfect example was Sydney 2000 where over million people got jobs due to sydney 2000.
Same happened to athens.
Even see the local example. The Asia games in Delhi boosted the delhi's transport system and roads.
 
But it will be an absolute embarassment if at the end of all that, India manage to pick up only one slver medal or something........ We should get an opportunity to host it when we have a chance of winning many more...

See China, they were never among the top countries in Olympics but in Athens 2004, they were second!!! WHY?? Because they have concentrated a lot on sports so that when they host it in 2008, they will not be embarassed by a lack of medals.

Now, in 2008, china are one of the favourites.

But this will never happen in India. For all the govt talks, we can never have that sort of a concentrated push towards sports.... we have bigger and more serious problems to deal with
