Hi
I am planning to purchase 32" LED. Which one I should go for Samsung or Sony. Dont know which one is better or has upper side.

If some one could get me review on model Samsung-UA32D5000PRMXL. If going for Sony, which model and best price I can bargain.

My father is suggesting me 40" LED, are there any new technology coming in few months such as proper 3D or any changes. Or should I go for 40" LED also suggest model no. Thanks.

IMO you should always buy the largest LCD/LED you can afford. 3D will take 1-3 years to become commonplace and is expensive at the moment.

IMO if I had a 4-6 ft viewing distance I would go with a 46-55" if I had the money. For a 3-4 ft distance a 40-42" and for a 2-4 ft distance a 32".

And only go for full HD.

now i think that sounds little weird because the distance you have mentioned and the screen size you have suggested - thats odd

2-4ft :- 26"

3-4fr:- 32"

4-6ft - 42"

thats what i believe should be normal

Viewing distance is objective to some extent and subjective to some extent. You may prefer a 42" at 6ft distance whereas somebody may prefer a 55" to get a theater experience

I would ideally like a 200" screen at 8' distance to make it feel like a theater. Only if I could afford it :(

Viewing distanceit varies from person to person.Ideally considering all watch SD channels
for a 32" 4 to 6 feet and for 40" 6 to 8 feet anything closer you notice all the artifacts.

2 ft distance for 32" and 3ft for 42" is ridiculous techboi!!Do you really watch that close?

Time to visit a optician!!

But the query still remain .. which one is better Samsung or Sony. Also tell the model no. with prices if possible. My budget is around 65k for 40".

Get through Aramex. Shipping will be like 5-7k or so, import duty will be like 10-15k or so. So around 15-20k other than the actual cost.

40" is like 25-30k.

46" is like 30-35k and up.

55" is like 45k and up

You can go for the samsung 40D5500 costs around 59k street price or if you go via the grey market you can just about get the Sony 40EX720 which is better.

I use a 27" monitor for 1-1.5 ft distance!
A TV is not the same thing as a monitor. A TV is considerably tiring to the eyes even at the same viewing distance. A monitor is designed to be used at close quarters unlike a TV.

I am using a 32" TV at a 3.5~4 feet distance after reducing the back light level to 7/20, brightness to 25% and contrast to 70%. For working with text only, both back light level and brightness can be even lower.

Yeah, That is the safest option to get an LCD. And just in case, your LCD arrives in 2 or more pieces or even DOA, Techboy is always there to cover your 60k loss. Whats there to worry about?

I got this very model yesterday for 38.5k from Samsung Plaza. Satisfied with it so far. The 40" in the same series was selling for 58k.

What is grey market & what is the disadvantages for buying led through grey market. I am from Panchkula.

^^ Grey markets are usually composed of parallel/illegal imports. Products are obtained by direct import from other countries (US, Europe, UAE, South East) where the prices are lower and then sold here at prices that give the seller a fair profit, but still cost less than the same product got through official channels. Since the channel is unofficial, you don't get support/warranty from the official distributors. So, essentially this means that you get the product at a lower cost, but won't have any warranty from the manufacturer.

Saw this display as well yesterday. It was absolutely stunning. The picture quality was great and its even slimmer than the 32D5000 that I bought myself. Unfortunately, I didn't enquire the price, but considering the 32D550 was going for 30.5k, this one should be around the 25~26k mark.

A grey market is where you can buy certain products for a lot cheaper price then the official places, the drawback is you don't get any warranty nor any bill.
No idea about the grey market in your place.

Amazon does provide a DOA 30 days no questions asked warranty, even if not DOA and you don't like it, just send it back. And SYW honors the sellers policies. So in case it is DOA, you send it back for at most the shipping cost, and chances are for free if through SYW.

Through Aramex just the shipping cost, but it costs much less too.
