Looking for Nokia 3.55 mm adapter

i need a 3.55 mm adapter for my Nokia 6270 so that i can use a ep-630 or some good headphones to listen to music on my phone..

after a bit of research i found only 3 such adapters...

the ad -15

but cant use this as it doesnt have a inbuild mic..and is too short..

the second option is ..

nokia ad 46 adapter..

and the last option is ..the nokia ad 41 which comes with the new music edition phones of noka..

but i guess it doesnt work with other nokia phones...cause once when i had tired it ..it showed a message enhancement not supported

so the only option that i have is to go for the nokia AD 46 adapter..

but i am not able to find this anywhere in the local mobile shops..

and i dont want to approach nokia showroom cause they will surely charge a high amount...i am looking for a cheaper alternative..maybe around 300-350 bucks..

if possible can some one please try to find where its available ??

and by the way i found one sellin for 275 on ebay..but dont know if its genuine ..

AD-41 only works with symbian nokia phones...n since 6270 is S40, it'll not work with it..

As for the AD46..i had searched a lot for it when i had the 6233, but its not available anywhere..the only adapter i got was AD49..it doesnt even have the volume rocker like the one in the AD-46...only call recieve/cancel button! Its available for 300 bucks...its the only adapter u can get for the 6270...

And AD49 is easily available at all mobile shops..i see, u are from navi mumbai..come down to Vashi, sector 17, n look for Maaru NX shop..its pretty famous, ne1 will tell u thr..its available with them...:)

hmmm...yeah i know MARU NX and other shops...in sec 17..vashi

but looks like i will have to settle for ad 49 if ad 46 isnt available

also is there any difference in sound quality between and ad 46/49/41

i am gonna pair with creative ep-630 most probably..so how will the sound quality be like ...i guess a lot better than the stock nokia headset (HS-23)..though even they were pretty decent..

just hope that the ep-630 wont disappoint..me.
 
Imo, thr is no change in the sound quality..only the functionality differs...

Just get it checked at the shop...Maaru sells it for 300 bucks w/o warranty..so be sure to get it checked then n thr...
 
These adapters do offer a lot of improvement in sound quality only if they are orginal… a friend of mine bought the AD-46 for something like 300 bucks from some mobile shop are they sound so terrible that he threw them away after a week…

I have the original AD-15 adapter paired with Sony earphones and the sound quality is awesome…:hap2:

yeah will let u know once i buy it..

so right now u r using the stock HS 23 headsets with 6270 ??.



OT .

hmm...and also ..kind u please tell me the firmware of u r phone ..

press *#0000# to know u r firmware details...

actually i was thinking of upgrading the firmware from 3.69 to 3.85 the latest one..but almost everyone who has upgraded it is complaining of sound quality and volume decreasing by almost 50 %...so just want to make sure..and nokia says that the volume decreases due to the new European standards for nokia phones.

or else...u know how the 6270 sounds..just awesome !

had bought it in late Feb for abt 12900/-

The sound is just Superb.. love it .. only the bass is missing .. which ofcource has the copyright by Sony Corp ..

Havent heard any other 6270 so cant really give a comparative verdict on that.. but i do feel that i can use a little more volume capability in the fone .. if u feel that u got the decent volume capabilities.. hold ur upgrade..
a frnd of mine has the same fone and prolly wd be having a mch lesser version of the firmware installed.. i ll chek and confirm the same soon ..

Any real Smashing/Killer feature in the new f/w ??

naah no new smashing feature of the new firmware...infact it degrades the phones sound quality thats what ive heard...dunno what nokia is upto..!

the only reason i want to change firmware is sometimes my phone takes time to open the 1 gb memory card..when its loaded upto around 850 mb.

.

and also a little problem with video playback on the phone..if i convert a video to 3gp and transfer it in the phone the audio runs faster than video..and after some time theres only video playing and audio is over !

anywayz its getting OT..now..today i will try finding the AD 46/49 adapter and tell u..how it works !

i had gone to MARU nx but they said they dont have it now..and instead he was telling me to buy the ad 15..but i didnt buy it cause theres no mic in the ad 15 and its too short..

i even enquired in other mobile shops in sec 17..but nobody has it ..many of them dont even know what it is !:huh:

so u know of any other place where i can get the ad 46\ad 49..???ive heard its available in some mobile shops in lamington ..

until i get the adapter i cant even buy the ep 630..

ur in luck buddy .. well kinda i mean .. cuz i need to go to the nokia priority dealer in my area.. i ll enquire abt the piece there and tomorrow too from few shops ..

do tel me if u want me to purchase it till evening ...

hey spacescreamer...please do check the availability and the price of the different adapters, i have a N93 and now buying the EP630 so i am also looking for an adapter too...

To tell u the truth, most of the mobile shop owners there are dumb idiots and they dont know $hit about even half of the stuff they've got..:P and the maaru guy is no less an idiot...i remember when i had bought the 6233 in april, i had asked him for the ad49 adapter....even then, he said tht he didnt know of any such adapter as ad46/49....so i had to show him a pic of the adapter which i had stored in the phone...n then he was like, ahh yes, i hav it...n he had a good stock of those ad49 adapters..only he didnt know what they were called..!! :P
I suggest u do the same thing...take a pic of the ad49 in ur cellphone n show it to him...maybe it'll help him brush up his puny little memory..:lol:

N if unfortunately, he still doesnt have it, just pay him some advance n ask him to get one for u...imo, its still available n he shud be able to procure it easily..:

I enquired abt the ad 49 adapter.. the person had only that one in stock ..
Rs 300/- was the price quoted...
