I'm looking forward to build a server for using Hyper-V which will host few VM's. So would need help from some of you guys who knows more about Server Motherboards and there availability and A.S.S. in mumbai.

1. My Budget is 70-80k. Budget includes, CPU, MOBO, RAM, PSU, & Cabinet.
2. Need a Mobo which has Dual Socket for Scalability.
3. CPU will be Xeon one's.
4. Ram would be 12 to 16 gb, non-ecc ram will also do.
5. HDD i will manage.

Also dealer name and contact details if you have will be of great help.

I'm not sure if the 70 - 80K will be sufficient for a dual socket setup. What I can suggest is buying a quad core proccy with a mobo that is sturdy and has many RAM slots.

Best of luck with the build :)

you might want to look at super micro or tyan motherboards.

+1

u can also look for mobos from ASUS and Intel :)

If u r looking for VT-d support too then prefer Intel

Price of 4GB DIMM modules are very high ... so u should choose motherboard with more than 6 DIMM slots if u have to go beyond 12GB total.

Thanks for the reply guys. I know Tyan, SuperMicro, Asus, Intel mobo and other stuff, but would like to know how is the A.S.S. for those, Asus will again be Rashi so will try avoid buying the same. And also about the availability of those Mobo's.

There must be raid-10 if you gonna make them for selling containers, plus I recommend only SAS drives because more then 5 containers will rape the I/O and everything will be unusable.
