Laptops Macbook Or HP pavilion or Dell Xps? ? ? Suggest pls

Hi guys, i'm planning to take a lappy this jan or feb from dubai or from here in india , . .

I'm confused among these three, mac, hp and dell

i've never seen or worked on a mac system, but i heard its good to work on it, i included in it on my list because i heard windows os also can be installed in it along with mac, but i want to know how much reliable it is from you guys . . Also about the price guys.. I won't mind spending a 10-15k extra for mac, because i'm interested to work with a new os. .

I'll be using my system for cadd softwares like solid edge, solid works, video editing, rendering, i'm not much in to action or war games.. Just the nfs and sport games..

Pls help in choosing the right one.. Which one to go for.. And also the estimate price..
 
Macbook for style factor! You will get amazing hardware for the extra 10-15k you are ready to shell.

Dell XPS brand is very reliable. Go for the custom 1530 with lots of RAM and HDD space.

I heard Video Editing is good on some Mac Software. But that ain't coming for free :)
 
Take a look at the HP DV5 series. Looks really classy! Specially at night.
And has amazing specs too - 3GB RAM, 2GHz C2D, Gefore 9600M.

i'd say stick to one of the windows laptops based on your own budget and their specs

Just to clarify here. When I said you get amazing hardware for extra 10-15k, I didn't mean Mac :tongue:

Well, I'm not really sure about that, but there are chaps here who can guide you well on this.

Anyways its nice that you want to look beyond windows and explore OS X but primarily running windows on a Macbook is not an ideal thing.

Apple provided this feature to enhance flexibility, but its not for users who want to use Windows most of the time.
 
Believe it, you'll find windows quite left-behind-in-the-dark from the Mac, unless you are blind (sorry) :P Of course I'm biased since I find it perfect for my needs (!= gaming) and I am using Windows XP under virtualBox for testing only.

All the drivers are available officially from Apple for Windows installed via bootcamp.

The prices are almost uniform most where, unless the piece is imported. iStyle and battuta, carrefour malls are major places to find them. You can give a try to eBay US too.

A Macbook (that too unibody) will set you ahead of the crowd, that's a side-effect :P

I like(!=love) Mac >>>>> Windows.
