Well, i see lot's of new threads in the General Talk/Feedback section with new members complaining about being unable to post new threads in the market section. Nearly all of those threads come up because the new members fail to read the rules stating the requirements to be fulfilled in order to be able to granted those privileges. Now i know its in human nature not to look at the rules unless there is a need to or you are forced to look at them. So why not have the rules pop up once a new member registers, or the person is directed there ? Or maybe at least a summary of the most important rules, like the market requirements, rules against racial slurs etc etc. This will prevent a lot of these new threads popping up. If there is already such a feature, then please disregard this. Or maybe refine the current feature.

very nice suggestion , but a question , when was the last time u read the rules and regulations page when registering on any website or before clicking on the "I AGREE" check box :) , ask that question to me and i would say , i dont remember i ever did :ashamed:

That is what i am saying. It's human nature to just scroll down and check the I Agree box. Unless you are forced to read, it's never gonna happen. I know even a In Your face pop-up won't do much, but it will reduce it. Just because "It won't solve the problem completely" , why to avoid it ?

A pop-up could be easily ignored as any other method mate.

I been a member of too many forums for a lot of years. I have not even read the rules and regulation of a single one. Just learn it on the fly.

As i have already said, this is a possibility. But just because it could happen, why shouldn't it be implemented when it can and will reduce the possibility of people making "Why can't i post a Market Thread" kind of threads over and over again ?

While registering, it is essential to read the rules. We can do something as like deactivating I Agree button for 30 seconds, then somehow new member have to read rules before he agrees rules of the forum :D

i had posted this earlier, but a more obvious solution would be to post a link to the market section eligiblity criteria in the message which says that they are not eligible to post

Why not mention it either in the screen displaying the error or in the list of Market Rules and Regulations. As a matter of fact, it isn't even in the registration page. I only found out now because I went to the registration page and then, next to the 'I agree' checkbox was a link to the rules. Why not stick it either on the registration page itself at the least?

The 'Forum Rules' link at the bottom of this page doesn't redirect to that same set of rules, either. It would be a good idea to make it do that.

hey...we can have a market test...

eligible users will have to give a short multiple option based test after going through the rules and regulations..

and those who pass shall be allowed to deal in the market section :P

this way they will have to go through the rules no matter what :P
