do you prefer the new market subforums or do you think the previous all-in-one look was better? or maybe some combo like one subforum for sell and one for buy/trade .....
please cast your votes if your choice is other please specify
 
Would like to have everything in the same place...That way when u want to look at mkt section u can see both buy and sell:)
 
Honestly if subforums are to work, we need to close main section and force everyone to use subforums (we will need couple of more categories as well ).

Have all subforums for FS/T items and one common forum for WTB.

This is the only way I think subforums will work.

A year back I wouldnt have recommended subforms at all. But now the market traffic has gone through the roof and I honestly think subforums are needed.

Having 2 sections is another solution but I feel subforms are really needed looking at number of FS threads we get these days. And search does not always work as different people tend to represent items differently, add to that 3 word search limitation.
 
i go with what shripad says that we should force guys to actually post in the said sub forum otherwise whats the use of it?

the main forum is crowded where as subforums dont even have 10 threads so yah what shripad says

also FS and WTB threads could also be seperated but i think it would be a bit of hassle if we force the peeps to post in the said sub forum the market will become better place and also less crowded

Then which subforums do you think we need. The reason behind keeping the main section open was that general threads which do not fall under any category should be kept there. I see your point.

Maybe make a subforum for Misc stuff and close the main section from posting. Only display all the threads from the subforums in the main forum.

Besides that, is the current categorisation of the subforum accurate or it needs tweaking?
 
In addition to current, we need.

1. General Hardware

2. General Items ( non tech stuff like books and CDs etc )

And we can have 1 common WTB section for all items.

I am not saying we should copy someone else, but this is how the guys are doing it over at XS and it is working wonderfully over there.

We don't have to be unique just for the sake of it. If it works, we replicate and modify accordingly. :D
 
I also have one suggestion to Techenclave staff.

You can move Closed (Deal has been done or closed for other reasons) Market threads to a sub forum so that members will not find difficulty to get "still available" products.
 
Have sub-forums but make sure that get new market posts features captures from all the sub-forums.
 
Can we have a "Sold" Button on the Market Watch section besides "[Close this deal] [Edit Title and Prices]" buttons.

What the button will do is edit the title and append "- SOLD" to it and close the thread instantly. This should be useful.

And why isn't someone paying attention to the oll results, clearly the current multiple forums thing is quite disliked. And the reason is simple, going to may forums and opening to see what is on sale is irritating. I would much rather go to Page 2,3 if needed (which is rarely needed).
