Hey guys,
Just a small request/suggestion from my side. Please keep your prices intact, after you have sold the item. Many users are removing the prices and replacing them with the word "SOLD".Now noobs like me cant guess the prices in the ever changing market if we are going to buy some secondhand product through the forum. The item sold@ price is a nice indicator to people like me who are hunting for products after a while.:ashamed:

Thats all folks.

^^^^ +1 you can mark it as mrp : xyz (sold)

While a good suggestion no doubt (I have myself wondered about the sale price after a closed deal), I wonder how truthful people are going to be about the final price as that could give away the bargaining capabilities of the seller or the buyer

If agreeing on this one can also post the 'Sold @Price' in the Top most row of the thread so that its not always necessary to open the whole thread to see the price its been sold for or possible at what price its selling for. Just a small suggestion. :)

Benefit of Community vs Benefit of a Single Seller.

I think sellers should retain the price after it is sold. They need not mention the latest price if it was bargained further, but the price that was there earlier should be retained.

In total support of retaining prices. :bigok:
(in fact wanted to start a thread mentioning the same but never made time for it) :ashamed:

Selling price should help others but shouldn't be a reason for lowballers or vice versa. :cool2:

Also, how many of us go on to PM a seller if his price is too low and he may fetch more? :)
And offered/paid more even if interested in buying yourself?
(because such too-good/ignorant sales/deals encourage low-ballers)

I've observed that many people are still not following this. :(

Guys, please retain your final selling price (the price at which you finally sold them item) in your listings. I've been following this myself since my first FS thread. It really helps others. Cheers! :)

A simple PM to the person who sold the item also helps . Suppose i am badly in need of money i sell the item at 7000 where it usually sells at 8000+ , then i write the price as 7000 in SOLD , i am hurting the chances of a prospective seller who is selling his item at 8000 . Buyers will surely say he sold at 7000 you can sell at 7200 etc etc .
I would rather PM the guy and he of course will provide the reason why he sold at such low price in the PM more openly then in public.

I've tried the PM route as well. Some sellers (who had written "SOLD" in place of actual price) responded with their selling prices while others didn't even bother to reply to my PM. This is not an ideal way to guess/fetch prices. Moreover, you can't just blindly copy prices of other sellers. A little bit of research needs to be done when arriving the the ideal price. Just go through all my FS threads. You'll notice that all my prices are reasonable - not too high, not to low. Now others can refer my prices and list their items accordingly.

Suppose i am badly in need of money...
Yes, then the scenario changes. Your price is obviously going to be less than the actual price at which the item might be sold. One needs to check at least a few threads before arriving at a price rather than just blindly copying the listing price of a single FS thread. Hope you're getting my point.

@iChaitanya
Your point favors the buyers more than the sellers .
Pricing the item is upto the seller , a buyer needs to check price for the new item and decide by himself if the deal is a go or a no go. I dont expect a person to go buy stuff from a second hand market without knowing whether the price is a good price or not . So he might willingly pay the quoted amount or again bargain for the same .
Trust me if i price a 1k item for 300 rupees still some buyer will try to save another 50 bucks . I personally would respond to any person who contacts me and asks the price at which it is sold , however i would provide the reasons as well why i sold at that price .

^ And how does a person gets to know what is the usual going price of a pre owned article ?
A person will do the research on what is available out there in the mkt over the counter, but there is no standard set for the pre owned articles. Just in case a seller has priced the said article at an all time insane pricing, a desp or noob buyer is gonna get it for the mentioned price. The same article might have been adjusted or a new one would have popped up after a lil waiting.

Leaving the pricing is very much in the interest of buyers and a good practice on forums as this is not an e portal to hawk your wares.

Let the prices remain.....
it helps a seller in finding a right price for his product...... under the current circumstances.........

Noob buyers ?? , i havent encountered any , everyone i have met has asked for a reasonable price drop or a extremely low balled price . So eportal is only in interest of sellers not buyers and TE only for vice versa ? , mate there are 1000s of people who buy/sell items here daily and if pricing is not right or even if its right there are 10 people pointing out prices to the seller regardless whether its a trustable website or not .
I would say let people who want to leave the price leave as it is on the sale thread , you can always take the PM route to the rest , those who wanna help will help rest wont as simple as that.
