Max 100 sms free/discounted SmSs per day

Hello Guys

New crap by Trai just got sms by airtel that as per Trai regulations effective 01-feb-2011 you can send a maximum of 100 free/ discounted sms's per day.

wow thats bull crap and waste of what all packs activated.

looks like we are heading down way far as fast we started upwards
 
Never mind, since i dont send more than 20 messages a day :P

Offtopic: I received another message from Facebook Mobile, saying "Your no. is registered with DND. If you wish to receive Facebook status updates from Feb 01 2011, kindly deactivate your DND registration else you will not receive FB status messages."

WTF. Anyways, i dont care, since i browse FB through mobile most of the times, so why would i deactivate DND just for this, and if do, i will start receiving many more crap calls/sms from other marketing companies.
 
^^ I too send about 20 messages a day max... :P

So also, all local messaging (within Maharashtra) for me is only 10p/message.

BTW, I am using Loop.

I also don't have a problem. I don't send more that 10-15 SMSs a day whereas I get all kind of BS messages to buy upcoming property, saloons services, restaurants, offering loan, offering car rentals, car service, insurance and what not. I will be glad if it stops them.
 
100 sms/day is more than enough for most, now there will be a drastic reduction in the no. of stupid forwarded messages :)

yea agree hardly matter to me as i dont send even 10 msg a day as i am on blackberry too so no need of sms
 
Where are you getting this news from ? Please provide a source at least

I cannot find this on TRAI's notification list :s
 
^^This is a genuine news, many have received this sms from the service providers like airtel,docomo etc..

it does not and my purpose was just to give info thats all for me if they paid each sms i am okay with it as i use bb and have most of my known on bb

Neway, how many people would be sending > 100 SMSes a day?? Unless there are people who just like to forward crap to others coz messaging is free!!

I personally use messaging only when I want to pass on something and I don't need to make a call for it.

I surely forward and pass on a few other (timepass) messages as well but they have to be very witty and intelligent/funny to make it outta my phone!!

how many well i know people who chat on sms and finish off 500 sms a day and many who use facebook chat and so many other stuff. so its a bad news for many if not for us

same here. I send msgs only when some quick work needs to be done which isnt worth a call :P
and some forwards just to tease someone/ make someone laugh ;)

I used to send more than 100 messages a day during my college times. But its over now, no more college and no more messages :P

yea we are out of college but college are not shut down and have lots of students studying there and for them this matter a lot because its bad for free as well as for discounted so means no offers can get u anything above 100 sms a day free thats all unless u buy few more sim cards.
