Media Centre problem for Win7

I am using WIn 7 media centre to view movies. I hv got some mkv format movies which it is not able to play on Win 7 Media centre whereas i am able to play them in my office PC which has Win XP.

Pls tell me how can i get them played in win7 media centre.

install cccp codec pack. most probably those movies are encoded in H264 codec.

edit: seems windows 7 media center can only play avi files. damn thing wont play anything else. will try to find solution and post it here.

edit2: it wont playback mkv without hacking it. havent tried it, so wont be posting link. you can google for it though. theres some shark007 codec also floating around. but it seems its for media player.
