I am referring to the line that appears below my login name. Site mods are excepted from this, since they probably assign whatever they want as their description.

Just found that I was upgraded from "Junior Member" to "Hyperactive Member", I think after my 50th post. However, I would like to point out that I am in no way "Hyperactive" in these forums (or anywhere else, for that matter).

Consider this. I joined TE in March 2005 and in the intervening 60+ days period, I have made just over 50 posts. That doesn't even average out to 1 post per day. So why am I being called "Hyperactive"? "Lazy Member" would be more descriptive in my case. If I do not post anything for the next month or so, I would still be called "Hyperactive". I feel this is not correct.

Assigning descriptions based on the absolute number of posts, as opposed to the number of posts made per day, is not really descriptive of the member's activity in the forum. Is there any way in which the assignment of the description is based on posts/day? I think it would give a clearer picture of how active a member is in the forums.

Hi Jai,
These user custom titles were thought of and implemented earlier on.
As per what you say, a person can makeout how many posts and the rate of posting by looking at the Join date and Number of posts.
Which are also visible in the header of every post.

As for the change in the titles.....is a good suggestion. We shall decide what to do about it.

Let the admins see this and reply.

while what you say makes sense, the implementation would require a major hack into the DB structure. Not that it can't be done but since this is a standard Vbulletin feature, i wouldn't be too keen to tamper with it,

Having said that,, if more people request, i may think about it.
thanks for the suggestion though
