My machine config is as follows:

Microsoft Windows 7 (6.1) Ultimate Edition 64-bit

AMD Athlon II X4 635
motherboard 770-C45 (MS-7599)
Display Adapter ATI Radeon HD 5570

RAM 1 = Kingston 2GB PC3-10700 (667 MHz)

RAM 2 = GSKILL 2GB PC3-10700 (667 MHz)

I want to upgrade the machine to have 8 to 12 GB RAM.

Please advice, should by two/three 4GB RAMS? or keeping above two mentioned RAMs + addional new RAMs?

My budget is upto 8000 INR

Thanks
Richard

2 x 4GB + your existing 2 x 2GB RAM should be fine.

Place the same sized RAM in alternate slots (I think this is the method MSI follows, but you will need to check), eg: 4GB modules in 1st black and 1st blue slots, and 2GB modules in 2nd black and 2nd blue slots. Hopefully dual channel should still work this way, although its possible that your board might not support dual channel with different sized modules.
