A Microsoft TechNet Plus subscription is aimed at IT Professionals who want full-version Microsoft software, beta software, professional support incidents, managed newsgroup support, a technical information library, Microsoft eLearning courses, online concierge chat, the TechNet Magazine, and many other resources for evaluating, deploying, and maintaining Microsoft software. The subscription normally goes for $349 (download-only) or for $599 (download and DVD shipments). You want it free though, right? No problem: Canada link, US link, and UK link.

I got in using a US address. I have access to everything with a valid key. I will need to download the software. Will wait and see if Windows 7 RTM is available in here.

Thanks..Registered..

Update

I am now hearing that this is part of a pilot program that is set to expire on September 30, 2009, which means it's more of a three month deal, but hey, free is free! Currently, the expiration date reads "1/1/1900" but Microsoft is working on fixing that.

So I guess a free key for Windows 7 RTM will not be possible.

Windows 7 is expected to be released to manufacturers and partners of MS by the end of July. So the chances of it showing up on Technet are fairly high.

Update 2

When attempting to get new keys or see old ones, users are now getting the following message: "There was an error error while trying to retrieve requsted key information and we cannot process your request." It's not clear if Microsoft is cutting people off or if the requests for keys simply became overwhelming for the servers (more likely). Of course, if you already got your keys, they should still work.

I guess this is due to the system being overloaded! I am sure MS did not expect such a HUGE response to this and were taken by surprise. This news is now on the front page of every technology and IT related site. I am sure things will be okay after a couple of days.

They Ain't fools. already lots of forums , same details are roaming around. lots of people are registering. when too many registrations are happening they will be suspicious and sooner or later they will figure it out and block all accounts... any way best of luck..

TechNet Plus subscription normally costs USD $349 for new subscription and $249 for renewal without discount or promotion deal. Microsoft apparently is going to launch a new web-based professional support service offering. In order to gather feedback for the new offering, Microsoft develops a exclusive pilot program named TechNet Plus Consumer Services Professional Pilot. As a token of appreciation, participants will receive free one-year subscription to the TechNet Plus Direct worth GBP £237 or USD $349. Also included is free Microsoft support call worth British Pound £171. Survey takers also can win one of eleven Zune 4, one of six xBox Arcades, or one of five Flip Video Mino HD Camcorders in regular raffles throughout the course of the pilot program.

It’s highly unlikely that anybody can join the survey program right now, which is meant for IT professionals who service small businesses, home offices or individuals, and can last accessed via the URL below:

RDD Field Services

Once you complete the screening survey, instructions will be given on how to sign up for free TechNet Plus Direct full online subscription with 1 year validity via a registration URL. The registration URL in fact has been abused by many as the loophole for anybody and everybody to grab a valid 1-year subscription of TechNet Plus Direct (named as TechNet Plus Consumer Service Professional Pilot Full when sign up, but it’s still a full online subscription).

UK: https://om2.one.microsoft.com/offer/technet_emea.aspx

WARNING: Using the trick above to subscribe to TechNet Plus without participating in the research activities is in fact illegal, and the subscription may be revoked and made inactive anytime (proof from 1/1/1900 expiration date).
