Microsoft has refreshed their tablets lineup by introducing new Surface 2 and Surface 2 Pro tablets. The Surface 2 runs Windows RT 8.1 OS and the Surface 2 Pro runs full Windows 8.1 OS.
Surface 2 is powered by an NVIDIA Tegra 4 1.7GHz quad-core Cortex A15 processor with 2GB of RAM. It comes with 10.6 inch display with 1080p display resolution, compared to 1366x768 resolution display on previous Surface RT tablet. It comes with Bluetooth 4.0 and USB 3.0 port also for faster connectivity.
Camera resolution has also increased, with a 3.5-megapixel front camera and 5-megapixel rear camera, both capable of capturing 1080p video and featuring improved low-light performance. It is also thinner and lighter than the Surface RT.
Surface 2 is available in 32GB and 64GB configurations[1]; it will start at $449.
Surface 2 Pro-
The Surface Pro 2 is like the original Surface with few improvements. It also comes with new 10.6 inch full HD display. It is powered by Intel Core i5 Haswell processor with 4GB or 8GB of RAM.
It also comes with USB 3.0. The Surface 2 Pro still uses 720p front and rear cameras, unlike the Surface 2 which comes with improved cameras.
The battery life is claimed to be up to 60% better than Surface Pro.
Starting at $899, Surface Pro 2 will be offered in 64GB and 128GB configurations with 4 GB of RAM and 256GB and 512GB configurations with 8 GB of RAM
