News Microsoft's Age of Empires going mobile - releasing on Android, iOS and Windows Mobile soon

Reports have been confirmed by Microsoft which suggested that the fan favourite series, Age of Empires is being revived, but this time on mobile platforms (Android, iOS and windows mobile). Microsoft will release the game before the end of the year, and there are also rumours which are suggestion that some other Microsoft games might also make it out on the mobile platforms soon.

This news was first broken by Reuters, and their course was a Nikkei report. The port of this Age of Empires game will come out from the Japanese Developers KLab (which have previously made games such as Arcadia, Gigabot Wars etc) - whose stocks were raised by 10% after this news was announced my Microsoft.

Microsoft had confirmed the story, and said “Today, KLab Inc. announced a licensing agreement with Microsoft Corp. to develop a mobile version of Microsoft Studio’s Age of Empires franchise, which will be initially developed in English for iOS and Android and launched globally, with plans to release the game in other languages and on Windows Phone in the future.

“Some reports included incorrect information about additional Xbox Live-based games on iOS and Android but there are no further announcements beyond Age of Empires at this time.”

Any idea on how to play this franchice - AOE II on Win 7 & Win 8 32bit and 64bit.
Adored this game with beautiful options and stunning imagery.
 
Read the reviews online and it seems that AOE II HD is a bit buggy for multiplayer. However for single player campaigns this should be as good as the original. Thanks for mentioning Aman.

AOE II HD doesn't have any noticeable graphics difference, game play is the same, some new music tracks...

In multiplayer games/single player custom game.. Max population can be set to 500,increasing it from 200 from the original AOE II.

And btw the older AOEII works fine on my windows 8 64bit.

Hopefully the mobile game will be good, just finished age of kings and conqueror campaigns... Yet again :D

Played company of Heroes again too.. Will buy coh 2 once it gets cheaper!
 
One of my most favorite game for a long time. Age of Empires, Rise of Rome. Played just about 10s of thousands of time. Deathmatch, highest difficulty level, 3 opponents was what i used to play. Also this is the game with which i made my friends hooked onto gaming in holidays when they used kill time at my place.

Lately friend of mine who moved from neighboring home to usa was insisting for me to play multiplayer with him (after more than a decade) :D
