CPU/Mobo Mobo / CPU suggestions

I have been tied down for quite a while ; few months ago my socket A mobo died on me.......since then,i ve been on oldschool celeron 333:hap2:

Given that i have a deal of free time right now, i could use some suggestions regarding a cpu/mobo combo around 5K. Not over 6K. I am expecting performace close to my old combo of KT400 + 2600+.

Thanks for the prompt reply, could you please elaborate on them ? Which cpu would fall in the budget 30/32/3500 ? Also name a decent mobo, i've been out of the circuit for a good deal of time ^_^

Guys, i could use some names.

I was planning to go for a foxconn + 3000+ venice , but turns out its a PCI-E board.Which means , more money to get a AGP card. :'(

If you are getting the venice, then you can pair it up with Asrock Dual SATA2 mobo, it's got AGP as well as PCI-E slots

ASRock -> Products -> 939Dual-SATA2
