Monitors Monitor for 8K

A friend bought a rig with an 8500GT + 6300+ 1 GB RAM recently.

He has a maximum budget of 8K for the monitor. Which one should he buy ?? Preferably an LCD.

LCD for 8k, hell get an LG/Samsung 17" for around that price. Maybe a bit higher.

Naa, always prefer ViewSonic over other Brands. They are specialists in Monitors!!

Yup 17" widescreen..Recently got a couple of em' for friends from SMC..They had this model installed in their office as well..looked good..we bought..:hap2:

I've bought two LG 1730S' for friends, both are very happy with their LCD's for about 6 months now... it replaced the 1720b, which was another good LCD.

go for the viewsonic. its around 8k
its a widescreen lcd. 1440 x 900 res.

But the widescreen format is 16:10 and not 16:9 which is the usual I think....

Not sure about the LCD department but if you want to go in for a 19 inch CRT model which can yield you a 1600x1200 resolution then you can go in for Viewsonic E96f+Sb model which I recently brought.Great buy IMO.:hap2:

Price of Samsun 740N is 9k, got one for my friend yesterday.

I have the 1703WB here. Decent stuff. A bit of color correction needed, and then you are good to go. Bought it for 8.4k (-2k for my old 17" CRT!) So net only 6.4k.
