Monitors Most Obscene DELL LCD Quote..

Well I am in the market for a LCD & going through my options I decided on DELL E1909W LCD.. Now I would like to know what could be the most ridiculous quote DELL could have possibly give for a 19" TN Film LCD panel... This mail was received on "Thu, 30 Apr 2009 10:09:28 IST"

Just to be sure I got the model right they even sent the spec sheet.... :rofl:

You read the last line correctly...

Its INR 14,999,

for a 19" TN film this is the most obscene price I had got quoted at these times... Its not like DELL will be giving me gold plated LCD panel...... :tongue:

Also this was quoted by a Sr. Sales rep. so if anybody is interested they can call DELL sales rep directly....

Please share your stories if DELL had also given you ridiculous quotes earlier...

SMC online quotes the same LCD @ 6.65k..

SMC Pricelist

Had asked someone to get the quote from Nehru Place & they got it from Cost 2 Cost, also for 6.6k... (though I need confirmation that its for E1909W & not S1909W).. Anyway had asked another buddy to confirm it...

My only gripe is that this LCD is not available locally & I'll need to get it from Delhi or Mumbai... Delhi is much better chance but needs to be sure of price....

Do you think I am that naive... I reconfirmed it from the same sales rep & she was adamant that its priced at Rs. 14,999/- shipped.... :p

This is the price updated with us.

As for the speciality of the monitor, the specifications have been outlined.

Every person to whom i've suggested dell, i've told them to take atleast 3-4 quotes from different reps across a few weeks if they have time..

  3. Matt Panel
  4. Rectangular
  5. Hard to find with dealers

S1909W

  1. 18.5"
  2. 16:9 AR
  3. Glossy
  4. Curved Corners (Didn't like it, personal choice)
  5. Weird Resolution
  6. Easily available across dealers

Which one is best is debatable since both ate TN panels... its only personal preference which can tilt on either side.. :cool2:
