CPU/Mobo Mother Board for MAC OS

I have an Asus P5Q-E and everything works perfectly. I don't use any distro, I use the iboot disk and retail copy of Snow Leopard. Google iBoot for Snow Leopard and you'll find it.

is there any specific Display card to be used

i em using iboot

Thanks

@ tracerbullet, thanks for the info.

I had downloaded 3 different distros of mac but none of them work.

So, i wanted to make sure that whether iboot method works or not before getting snow leopard.

Few months back a friend of mine suggested to try my hand on MacOSX. I tried to install the 10.6 version in my AMD Rig (Phenom 555 + XFX HD4670 1GB)
but was not sucessfull. Then only i came to know that there is a great deal of compatibility issues between MacOSx and the harware used. Finally with the
help of OSx86, i built an Intel rig comprising E7500 + G31M-ES2L + XFX 9500 1GB and now every thing works perfectly.
It took me a couple of week to select this rig and to know primary things about HACKINTOSH and i was going crazy during these Weeks. From what i know,
1. If you want to know what you are doing please learn some basics about HACKINTOSH instead of trying distro's.
2. Intel + Nvidia + iBoot + MultiBeast is the easy way to go. (IMHO)
3. AMD and ATI gives the hardest of trouble and challange. (i never was able to make my Phenom 555 & XFX HD4670 1GB work with MacOSX)
Finally,
4.I came across "Mac OS X VMWare Image 10.6.4 Intel AMD" and now i am able to run Win7 and MacOSX at the same time in my AMD rig. The problem
is no audio and only basic resolution when using MacOSX.

Mention your hardware config. The Boot132 method that iBoot uses requires an Intel processor and supported motherboard, along with a Snow Leopard retail disc.

I tried installing Snow Leopard on the rig in my siggy... Installation happened fine, the problem was the OS wouldn't recognize my keyboard.. So I could really never go ahead of registering the OS.. I used the iboot & retail dvd method.. Any solutions???

Yup, your problem is that you're using a PS2 keyboard. Buy anything cheap USB keyboard for 300 bucks and you're good to go ;)

Will have to buy a new keyboard then I guess... The keyboard that I have currently is the only thing left of my old PC that I first built (Pentium 4)... LOL !!!!

Will buy one tomorrow... Anyways, just a question... Is there a way by which OSX can be installed without messing the Windows 7's MBR??... It is really a pain installing OSX, then repairing Windows 7....

Two separate hard drives is the most painless way to go about doing it. One for windows and the other for snow leopard. That's been my poison, at least.

Mobo- Asus P5B-TMX/S-- Intel 946GZ chipset

Proccy-- Intel Core 2 Duo E6300

and yeah, i've got PS2 Mouse n keyboard... may be that's why, i was stuck at a screen displaying Keyboard not recognized or something like that..

Thanks @tracerbullet for listing the issue that it doesnt recognize ps2 keyboard...

Now i've got a Retail copy of Snow Leopard *the ahem version* btw and iboot.

Will be installing that after my end term exam...till then, thanks for your help...

Will buzz this thread with my experience in Jan.

Another more tedious way to go about doing it if you dont have a USB keyboard/mouse is to create a modified iboot cd with the ps2 keyboard/mouse kexts loaded on it. I think another kext called ACPIPS2NUB is required as well. You can download all these kexts from www.kexts.com. Hope this helped :)
