MS Office Basic 2007: Info required

Can one buy MS Office Basic 2007 off the shelves? I noticed some Dell PCs coming with this, but nothing on buying it retail. Except for some sellers on Ebay India.

Any info on this will be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: If you asking about the basic edition of Office 2007, it is available only as OEM version. No retail versions.

I am fine with OEM as long as I can buy it and install it in a new PC.

Is this fine as well?

I have bought a no of win xp licences as OEMs with new assembled PCs, so I am assuming that this can be bought as well (legally). But I have found only this on Ebay India. Kind of strange.

I'm not sure about the legality part of buying Office Basic in retail. However do check the components in each version:

Microsoft Office 2007 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Basic version and the Home/Student version differ in that Basic lacks powerpoint but has outlook, whereas Home/Student has powerpoint but no outlook.

If you need both, you will have to settle for Standard version at least.

Thanks, I need Word and Excel basically, which Basic has.

Student and Home edition, I don't think I can go for it as I need it for an office (around 14 licences required), so I need to go Basic perhaps.
