Will report more benches soon. Yes, stock voltage.

37400 rs.

Bf3 should run fine at my max Rez ultra without msaa but with perhaps 4x Fxaa with minimum close to 50-60 fps or so I guess

From what I remember, the games I tried at,

CCC everything max with AA FXAA 4x, all other AA off

AF 16x

Quality max

rest default

Vsync on

19x10 Everything max in game

Skyrim with ultra texture pack doesnt dip below 60

Alan Wake same I think, though not 100% sure here.

COD MW3, same.

Dirt3 was without VSync I think but 4x MSAA and way always over 60-70 FPS or more.

Unigine Heaven at default settings 19x10 Dx11 around 75-80 FPS avg, score 2002.

Unreal Tournament 3 Black Edition (2009) Has a lot more settings than the original UT3.

I play at 19x10.

CCC everything max except AA, with VSync.

In game max.

Deathmatch with 8 players.

Runs locked at 60 FPS at 8x EQAA MSAA

With the same setting but Adaptive instead of Standard, it is playable, but not perfect. So I prefer the previous setting. Whether I play at 8x EQAA MSAA or 4x FSAA the experience in terms of performance isn't very different, in FPS etc as in.

But COD MW3 runs better than UT3BE, at 19x10 Max 4x MSAA and doesn't really dip below 60 FPS almost ever if at all. That too with Vsync.

All this is of course with 1125 1575 clocks.

Fan is set to 52% during 3D load, and load temps after oc are around 50s and early 60s at most.

Crysis was fine in the first level, but after that it hasn't played very well.

I play at 19x10 V High no AA, 16x AF, CCC High Quality.

With VSync on I get 60 half the time and 50s half the time. Occasional 40s and very rarely 30s. Whenver it goes below 60 it starts to become a bit uncomfortable with VSync on.

With VSync off, I usually get 55-80+ FPS and it is mostly smooth had it not been for the extreme amount of image tearing I get in every game without VSync, almost making it unplayable most of the times. It becomes uncomfortable only when it goes below 50 which isn't too often. But the huge amount of image tearing anyway makes the game not that smooth and hence VSync off is no better than VSync on.

Honestly, since I can't have minimum as 60 and if I switch off VSync then it is anyway very uncomfortable due to lack of smoothness due to the extreme image tearing, hence it the game is at best tolerable, but just about playable for a decent performance.

It isn't unplayable, but is far from perfect. But nevertheless, almost acceptable.

But this is without any AA. AA drops FPS further.

And this is oced to 1125 1575, under Crysis load of about 15-30 minutes and oc, the temps touch around 60C.

First Major Fight in BF3

Average during no fight is 90-120 or so

During fight mostly 80s

occasional 70s

rarely dips to mid or late 60s

This is at 19x10 Everything Max no AA no MSAA

<

Again, with the GPU and CPU oced of course!

NFS RUN 19x10 Ultra 4x MSAA

rarely dips below 90 fps, practically never.

Avg in 90s or 100s.

Oced card.

Doesn't cross late 50C temp with 52% fan speed.

For other games like Metro, goes till mid to late 60C. Never see it touch 70C with 1125 1575 and 52% fan speed.

The Phenom IIx6 1055T is not a gaming processor, I will recommend you better go for the AMD HD 7870 upon its release in India.

http://www.anandtech...duct/289?vs=147 --> A core i3 2100 is fending of the AMD 1055T here in gaming benches, so I think this will clarify the hex-cores shortcomings.

[The graphics card used in both cases is nVidia GTX 280 / AMD HD 5870]

If you want a more powerful suggestion, I would recommend you over-clock your CPU and add a Noctua cooler for more headroom and silent operations. Then I think you will be able to leverage an AMD HD7950 OR equivalent set-up [all this is a hypothetical assumption].

Hope this helped, Cheers!!

I did overclock'd it upto 3.66 something(stable) in Dec. for playing AC:R and borrowed a friend's 6970 for playing it @max.Ran Smooth. Ihave a total budget of ~66k. Ive kept 20k for PSvita. Nevertheless i will be buying all of this after May in June Most Prob. After my exams are over.

When over locked, a 7970 is like 60-80% faster than a stock 6970 so just about 15-25% slower than a 6970 cf. and it saves you power heat and most of all saves micro stutter trouble and cf hassles. IMO I would anyway prefer a 7970 oced to a 6970 cf.

But I recommend a 2500k plus radeon 7950 that would beat your setup with a 7970 oced

It will be too much of a hassle, sell then buy etc etc...instead I'll rather go with a single 7950. Later on update to Intel and maybe a year later crossfire 7950. Thanks anyways, will open up a thread regarding all this when i'll be free..btw when is nvidia launching 600series? I got no clue..and if the price's related are out then are they worth every penny?

Sorry on mobile can't do surfing much, Nokia C2-02.

Literally a pain in the *coughs*

An oced 2500k will give you 1.5-2 times the performance of your current setup. With your current setup anything more than a 6870 is a waste. You may get a better overall experience with a 6950 oced with 2500k than with your CPU and a 7950. Not more fps of cours, but a far smoother and balanced enhanced gaming experience

If you don't want to spend that much right now, wait for ivy 3570k and get a 6950 or 7850 with it, will be far better as an overall experience.
