Must Read Articles for IT / Computer Science Grads

I wish I had been able to read all of them myself before i began my engineering . But i couldnt stumble upon these works of art from some of the greatest programming and software minds out there.

So here's a compilation that ive always wanted to make ,and hopefully some of you might just go ahead and them .

1. Joel Spolsky's - Advice for Computer Science College Students

2. Stevey Yegge's Tour de Babel

3. Paul Graham'sUndergraduation

4. Steve Job's Commencement address at Stanford

5. Eric Steven Raymond's How To Become A Hacker

6. tastyresearch ' s My Microsoft Google Yahoo Stories

7. TAW's blog The right to criticize programming languages

Remember ...like Mark Twain said - 'dont ever let school/college come in way of your education '

"Without further ado, then, here are Joel's Seven Pieces of Free Advice for Computer Science College Students (worth what you paid for them):

1. Learn how to write before graduating.

2. Learn C before graduating.

3. Learn microeconomics before graduating.

4. Don't blow off non-CS classes just because they're boring.

5. Take programming-intensive courses.

6. Stop worrying about all the jobs going to India.

7. No matter what you do, get a good summer internship."

now thats one thing i don't worry about at all :p

Seriously... after reading most of them, I'm motivated more than ever to give my fullest towards Software Engineering. But among the non-technical stuff, steve jobs had probably the BEST words to say. He may be a sort of snob these days, but to think that he went through some of the worst times we can imagine, it seriously inspires me to double and redouble my effort.
