I recently posted a review of the IBM R50 my fiancee bought....

it's a centrino 1.5 or 1.6 (don't rem right) with 256 RAM, 40GB 5200rpm hdd and a IE2 gfx (not a radeon 7000 )

The clincher is she got it for 40,250 (incl taxes) with 1 yr warranty in chennai :eek:hyeah:

and it runs NFS UG :happy:
 
^^Is it a new lappy? Seems pretty old to me. For the record, the config in my sig costed 2000$ on toshiba's site. Its available in India for around 1.4lac. The only reason for the price is the weight.... its <2.2KG
 
yup...it's a new one...got it for slightly less than the mrp though from the distri at ritchie street

here are the laptop configs we have with the respective prices paid...

IBM r-50:

DOthan 715, 256 MB + 512 MB DDR (512 added later for ~3K), 40 GB 5200rpm, 802.11b/g- IE2, 15" screen: 40250+ 3000= 43250/-

weight -2.5kg

Compaq V2000:

Dothan 725, 512+256 MB , 40 GB 4200rpm, 802.11 b/g, IE2, 14" widescreen + Altec Lansing speakers(1280x768)..weight 2.4 Kg

don't rem' the xact price paid, but it was arnd 1100 USD back in Jan/Feb '05 weight
 
Guys its noway old its my nokia 3650 that spoils the pic quality.

Its 1.5 months old he finds it very difficult to carry home and back to office
so it used to be in the office only.

Now i requested him as i need it for my project creation as my rig will take
time so he got it home today.

Also reg the cost will confirm it again with him.

I told you guy i need to ask my dad again reg the price.

I told my dad that my friend on TE are tellin me that the laptop was overpriced.
So i finally got it what happeened.

My Dad got that laptop through office agent.
And the office also ordered a laser printer + scanner + transcened 256MB flash drive with that and the toltal cost of that bill was approx 1.10L

As the laser printer + scanner was for office the office paid for it
and we have just the laptop and flash drive.

And dad told me the cost whatever was the gross total on the bill earlier.
 
Well!! Can u help me?? i am/was going to buy a r51(2887 nq7 - 1.7 ), it is costing around 42,990...so(if it is true, of course) can u tell me what this NMIMS is so that i can get a hand on this cause it is a great offer.....

NMIMS - Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies ;)
Its a B School and there lappies are there for the students i feel.

NMIMS is one of the best Management Studies Institute.

u will have to be a student of that institute to get that lappy i feel.
