check out HP 1015tx much better than the dell.

ya, and costs about ~63k. its got

#Intel Core2 Duo Mobile Processor P7350
(2 GHz, 3 MB L2 Cache, 1066 MHz FSB, EM64T)
# 15.4-inch WSXGA+ Infinity display
# Nvidia GeForce 9600M-GT w/ 512MB DDR2 dedicated video card
# 3 GB PC2-6400 DDR2 (800 MHz)
# 160GB 5400RPM hard drive (Fujitsu)
# Broadcom 802.11b/g wireless + Bluetooth
# Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit
# High-capacity 6-cell Li-ion battery

Are you sure about "15.4-inch WSXGA+ Infinity display" I thought it was a WSXGA (1440 x 900) display.

And what about the battery? Is 9 Cell available? How much does the battery last on High capcity 6 cell?

Thanks

Hi,

I was previously thinking to buy xps1530 but after seeing the config of this sys ,I am delighted.Even HP is offering superior config than dell in the same price range .
I have few doubts:

1)Where can I get this system in pune/Lucknow?If anybody purchased it in any of the cities, please mention shop and price as well with all the accessories u got.....

2)Is there any price diff. in diff. cities 4 same model ?

3)I think HP warranty covers whole India and not state specific...

4)Can anyone tell me 1105 cons and is it relly better as compared 2 xps 1530...??

I got almost the same config(screen was 1280x800, no backpack and mouse), but including 9cell battery for 59k.

In Bangalore Chroma is in Eva Mall at the end of Brigade Road (do not know the real road name). There is another one in Koramangala, do not know where. Even I have to get one for my sis and the HP is looking like a better option than XPS. Will go check it out on Saturday.

Thanks for the info (I think for some reason the proxy server is blocking out the site for me here).
Would be great if I could get the Chennai stores info also.

TIA

Im interrupting, I have also selected to go in for Dell XPS 1530, but can someone tell how much discount can I get?

Also, if I buy through a Dell employee, then how much can I save? I've heard Dell employee can get upto 30% discount, is it true?

depends on the config. Upto 50k, around 15-20% discount.

Get a laptop costing around 80-90k and maybe, just maybe >20% discount. :)

Discounts are product specific of course so can vary of course.

Thanks Techie, the lappy Im choosing is a Dell XPS 1530, with 3 upgradations:

1. 9300 processor (6mb l2 cache)

2. 4gb RAM,

3. 9 cell battery.

Total cost comes to around 75k. If I buy using Dell employees programme, the guy told me I could get 30% discount.

One concern is that this lappy is devoid of Centrino 2 platform & HP is offering lappys in this range with Centrino 2 platform. So, is'nt it better to choose HP for now?
