My office closed down and 2 months salary gone..

Working in one of Mumbai based IT company.. Joined them few years ago (personal relations).
My father used to work with my Boss father.
It has gone down in bad shape since Corona (2 bosses passed away from Covid) and last we week all of us were laid off.
Our 2 months salary is as well gone, Boss genuinely said about same he wont be able to pay us.
Last 2 months we were trying to get new projects but were unsuccessful.
Its not right to not receive the salary.. but cant do anything about same around 16 people salary gone,.

What do you guys suggest ?

The layoffs are done not to show more profits (eg: Indian ITeS MNCs etc), they are done as the company is on the verge of bankruptcy. I agree that it is not right to get salary but at the same time, owners themselves are struggling for cash. Fortunately, market is extremely active right now as most product companies are hiring (this is the usual time of the year). Find a good job and move on.

This isnt unusual. In fact in this covid I got to hear that 3 of my last employers have closed down owing to losses and zero projects etc. One of them been an mnc.
You cant do anything even if you wish to file case either individually or all employees collectively as nor law nor anyone will be able to do anything and the case will as always be lying in law trash like lacs others and I'm 1000% sure none of you employees will even bothers to track it further as everyone hates law doors, followups, headaches, expenses and once one finds a job, who cares what happened in the past? life moves on...

None of us are planning to knock law..
We shared great times here, just due to death of 2 bosses company came to dust..

We are peacefully moving on.. just thought about sharing same here..

PM me your resume if you want try out with TCS. Since you are in Mumbai (like me), we have limited options in IT compared to folks in Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore etc.
Your options are.. Capgemini (used to work here), TCS, Accenture, Wipro (not all technologies though), Deloitte, Hexaware (may not suggest as they tend to force people to go to Chennai if lack of projects in Mumbai, from what I heard), Birla Soft, L&T IT and few others.

I am not sure of others but Capgemini and TCS have very high people strength (compared to overall org strength) in Mumbai office and TCS is anyways Mumbai based.

Also, as you mentioned you are physically disabled, with TCS having offices spread across Mumbai, you should not have problems getting seat in one of them when office work starts. Also, pretty sure most companies may even offer full WFH due to your condition.
 
Sorry to hear about your situation but things will change, we just have to keep trying. 2022 haven't started well for me as my company reduced salary to half to accommodate people from Europe. So I tried to do some freelance projects on Linkedin and found a client from Cyprus, Guess what after completion of projects the client tried to paid twice but Paypal denied there payment without any reason then client tried direct bank transfer and I have no information in Local ICICI Bank. Client want me to help with another project but I can't move on unless this payment issue is solved also I can't make him wait long and lose him for good as these are time sensitive projects.

I am just curious what policies the friends are referring to. I am not being condescending or sarcastic, I actually want to know. In my 2.5 years working with Capgemini, I felt the company is good but then it was just my 2nd org in life so I don't have a lot of experience working with multiple companies.
I didn't leave due to policies but just because I got a decent hike with other company and with my experience level (number of years) and skill set (not really niche as such), getting interview calls is also difficult. So I got a chance and took it.
 
We all are your family too brother , everyone has ups and downs in some part of there life as long as we stay together , help each other , we all can overcome our low times , i am pretty sure you will too , the day is not far when you too will also get over the bad days that you might be going through , just stay positive and look forward ....

Don't be ashamed to ask help. Back in 2019, I wanted to change jobs desperately and I even opened a thread here and I become totally besharam and started contacting everyone on linked in and my trusted colleagues to refer me anywhere they can to get me a job. I even contacted people whom I was not in contact with for 10+ years and I felt embarrassed asking them but still went ahead and asked starting with apology. That way I was able to land a job in Mumbai.

Now again in 2021, I was planning to switch and had a linked in contact who I actually don't know but is somehow a contact. I requested him to refer me and he had no obligation to do that but he did and I actually got interview call thanks to him and got job as well.

Capgemini offers worse annual appraisal 3-4% max. True for IT support people. If you are into software testing/development then its all green for you guys everywhere mostly!
Policies in terms of promotions and many random things now I cant recall everything.

Accenture is shit, 10 hours of work culture like laborers and (favoritism is on all time high here)

Now of course all this will differ from Bu to project but the overall image isnt good at all for some cos. incl. the above.

I agree about the percentage hike. I only saw 2.5% hike last year and even promotion hike (not for me but for those who got) was in very low double digits. I am myself into software development and my skills are NOT niche so I cannot expect a lot even when switching jobs so I am sort of ok with the decent hike I got when I recently switched.

About accenture, I too have heard about long work hours and I am ok to get paid less but don't want to continuously slog. I am no longer a bachelor or some 25 year old that I have no much responsibilities or anything. I am ok with decent salary per month and not very aggressive work timings.

Yes going for same, and almost finalized as office admin..
I love tech stuff, but for little/major difficulties cannot do same for hours.

I am like pinging this topic for hours,, lol. .. but really happy..
