My system doesn't detect external USB HDD's. My system detects usb thumb drives without any problems, I had tried 4-5 different external HDD's but none of them worked except one. The ones that didn't work are: a 80GB laptop hdd with casing, a maxtor 120GB HDD, a transcend HDD. The only one that worked without issues was a 1TB Maxtor drive with an external power supply (with power adapter).
My System config:
C2d E4500 2.2Ghz
1GB Ram
DG33FB Motherboard
500GB HDD
When I connect the external HDD to the front USB connectors, the HDD led glows and the HDD even vibrates but doesn't detect. But when I connect the HDD to the rear usb ports, even the light doesn't glow.
I checked all options in Bios but still could not find a solution.
Any one has any idea what can be issue? It would be great if someone can help me out.
