Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB ~4000/-

Sorry, totally forgot about this! Thanks a lot for your suggestions!

Can a Intel Core2Duo/i3 machine be bought in this budget?

And any good hardware vendors in Pune?

Well the problem with both the Intel configurations will be the pathetic things they will try to force on you called the Intel HD graphics / Intel Xtreme graphics adapter. These are a washout compared to AMD's excellent Llano integrated IGP's and decent CPU performance that will see you in good stead ~2 -->3 years.

If you are in for poor IGP performance and an Intel Core i3 setup --

Intel Core i3 2100 ~6200/-

ASUS P8H61-M PLUS ~3500/-

Corsair ValueRAM 1333MHz 4GB x1 ~1100/-

[rest configuration same as above]

I am sorry cannot help you with dealers in Pune, I will tag a few Pune based members for assistance. #[member='Infected'] and #[member='abhifusion'], guys a helping hand please.

Hope this helps, Cheers!!

Would suggest to instead invest in a laptop as that would be a better option. Try to bag the cheapest AMD LLano laptop. Else, mention what games he plans to run, we might have a fair idea if they work on the Intel HD graphics (though very doubtful)

20k is way to less that too for minimal gaming. Go with the list what #[member='ALPHA17'] gave.. But buy a second hand Hdd for 2.5k and zebronics 600va ups for 1150 and a 19inch viewsonic monitor worth 4.5k. That takes the total to 22k. Moreover if you buy something now you'd have to shell out more 200-300bucks due to $ fluctuations.

Anyways This is what i suggest[a bit modified #[member='ALPHA17'] Suggestion]:

AMD A4-3400 ~3500/-

Gigabyte GA-A75-S2V ~5500/-

Corsair DDR3 4 GB ~ 1250

Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB (Second hand)- Rs.2,500

Samsung DVD drive ~1000/-

Cooler Master eLite 311 ~2000/-

Corsair CX V2 430W ~2400/-

AOC 18.5 Inch LCD Monitor (931sn/swi) ~ 4,800

Zebronics 600va UPS ~ 1150

Speakers ~950

Amkette Keyboard + Mice Combo ~500

Go for AMD A6-3500-4k better performance than A4 withing few bucks,Go for Logitech mouse/key combo also don't know much about zebronics ups you can also go for i ball or APC ups.

Hmmm...

Try to cut on these components --

hard drives, there are a lot of these floating in the TE Market section, sift through them and go for one. Will save some cash there.

Instead of the Corsair CX V2 430W ~2400/-, go for the FSP Saga II 400W ~1900/-

Instead of the Cooler Master eLite 311, go for the Cooler Master eLite 310 ~1500/-

Monitor, try to get the cheapest 20" in the market from a reputed brand, this I advice because this components stays integral to your PC and cannot be replaced until in extreme exigencies.

Microtek 600VA UPS ~1200/-

Hope this helps, Cheers!!
