Hi all,
I'm sure this has been an oft-repeated as well as debated query but still to know, why doesn't the CPU/mobo corner have more sub-forums/corners so that it becomes easier to categorize stuff. For e.g. in http://www.techenclave.com/forums/cpu-mobo-corner/AMD/ it would be so easy to find stuff or http://www.techenclave.com/forums/cpu-mobo-corner/Intel it would be so much easier to focus rather than look at all the other stuff. I'm sure the guys here know that there are 70 odd mobos for something like 20 chips with various different socket/ core etc so it needs it own space. Similarly Intel is also moving both in the low as well as the high-end mkts with lots of similar yet niche products. So it would be great to have some kind of splitting. I know it would be a headache for the mods/admins to either archive all the stuff or to split the threads or something. Databases are still too primitive.
Anyway would like to have a discussion maybe we could make a clean break or something.

I had a similiar opinion for the gaming forum before.
I've been noticing lately, TE has enough members but there's no space to post. One thread on something interesting after a whole boring 9 hours of no posts suddenly has like 10 memebers posting in 2 mins!

TE in general needs more sub-forums division imo, it would enocurage more members to post their thread in that particular topic of forum instead of shying away and waiting for somebody else to start a similiar discussion in the main forum.

well if somebody like u who's already posted something like 1k questions here & still isn't getting any response from the mods then it's doesn't look rosy for the top guys as well as noObs like me.

^^ dont worry mate.. we dont have double standards for forum regulars and 'noObs' as u call urself.. (of course forum regulars do get some privileges ;) )

everyone gets a level playing field.. be it sharing their opinion or making a feedback comment.. u r free to share ur views n ideas.. its upto the admins to weigh 'em n suitably implement them or otehrwise.. but dont be discouraged.. go on.. :)

Yeah. I'm sure mods have got something planned up for the future once TE gets more members.

*silently @TheMask - Hey, maybe we should start this whole regualr-noob system :bleh: *

Well,

CPU/Mobo Corner should have Intel / AMD / General

Gaming should have Console (which inturn should have PS/XBOX) and PC and Handheld.

The list goes on :bleh:

If there are say something like 50 members or so right now then it would be actually the right time to implement stuff as there won't be much stuff to shift through to do the transition. There won't be much stuff which would 've to be re-routed in the sql table or whatever database solution they're following. Once more people come in then it becomes slightly more convulated to do big changes as the forum could go down for some silly reason or the other & hence more often than not admins are reluctant to change. I've seen this often enough at many forums. Nothing to do with admins at this specific forum :)

well there is a catch to that.

Unless the community is really huge if there are too many subforums then there is a tendency that one perticular subforum gets neglected.

We still dont get 50 posts / minute here like in bigger forums where its easy to loose your post if there are no subforums. Here thats not the case yet. You have question then go ahead and ask, people will help you in that regard.

And if there are subforums we tend to overlook the section of hardware that we dont use ;)

Now i can help with queries regarding both ATI and Nvidia but i in past tend to ignore Nvidia section on some forums as at that moment i owned ATI card even when i could have helped. And vice versa.

Similarly i will almost certainly turn blind eye to Intel section at the moment ;)

Its good to have subforums as traffic increase to a level when its impossible for user to get response to their query before their thread gets burried in new posts ;)

and more subforums = more moderation. :P

As for the original question, we are discussing on the same.
But, at this point of time, we really dont need seperate sections for AMD and Intel.
Maybe sometime in the future, when we have more active members posting in the section in question, we will create sub-sections.
Thanks for your suggestions and sorry for the late reply.

that was a cool one Vince, keep up the good work. Good to know that the systems lead is taking an active interest though.
