Need advice on Canon SX 210 IS

Guys Planning to get Canon SX 210 IS next month. Please advice...will be mostly using for personal perpose, i mean not professionally. Need to be able to capture good images of my 3 year old. :)

Appreciate your advice...
 
i know its got good ratings and stuff but if any body using it would like to throw some light on advantages / disadvantages ?
would i need to get a scratch guard for the lcd screen as soon as i buy it ?

17,500/- with 2 years canon warrenty
not tried HD movie recording yet but even standard quality is good
low light is something this camera is not too good at ( according to me )
