Need Help for uTorrent

I am using BSNL's Data One BB. But my Download speed in uTorrent is not exceeding 20kBps. Mine is 256kbps net. Those torrents having a higher seed leech ratio is having the same probs. So, plz help me optimize my uTorrent:no:

port forwording is not an issue in Dataone ..

What have you set your upload speed limit to?
uTorrent will cap your downloads at 20k (or below) if you use too low an upload speed limit. This cap is lifted completely only if the upload speed limit is set to atleast 6k.

I am on bsnl as well and get 30-34k download speeds one I set the upload speed limit to 6k.

Also switch your router to bridged mode, the default pppoe mode requires ports to be forwarded or all incoming connections will be blocked.

^bridged mode is not a secure way to connect to internet...well yes..in India most people dont care abt security in internet....but still..

configure the router/modem to allow a single port to use as the chnnel & use that post no as default in utorrent.

Stay away from BITCOMET (actually, its long time, the s/w name stated with 'BIT', most probably its BITCOMET, 90% sure).

It comes with a spyware/adware. Norton can't catch, KasperSky caught it.

Its a long time ago. when BitTorrent system just become popular and well known (in INDIA).

I am not ruling out that 'modded version', might be a trick by the hosting site, but it is 100% sure it was bitcomet.
I was 90% sure, but when you post, I went to the site.
I never forget the ICONS of such softwares.

I used to use this software on WinXP platform with NAV Internet Seq 2005 (fre with MOBO and fully updated) with no problem.
I came to know the av KasperSky, downloaded the TRIAL and installed on my WinME OS. no NTFS. then the scan told me...
but... again saying... its a long time ago and I am not ruling out that 'modded version' theory.

OT: just like hope you know DAEMON has a adware/spyware too.
OOPS: I suggested him not to use BitComet, than explained why as you asked. But it is TOTALLY OT. The MOD will kill me.
