Need Help to Connect Two PC

Hi all,

I want to setup two pc's at my home for internet sharing and file transfers. I have no idea as how to setup the connection :S. I tried searching online but couldn't get detailed information :ashamed:. Both PC have lan cards and there is a single broadband internet connection. Please explain me the full procedure to connect 2 PC's and share files. I use windows XP in both PC. Any good advice will be helpful.

Otherwise, internet connection sharing + Crossover Cable?
What are Straight and Crossover Cables

Thanks for replying guys. I have one more question. I want to share my brothers desktop PC. He is staying some 3 Kms away :S from my house and using Tata photon wireless internet. I am using BSNL land broadband internet. We want to play online games, share and transfer files from each others PC. How can this be done? I need some very good suggestion and detailed information. ^ that is possible by using an online remote access application like teamviewer (more details) .
both computers need installation & running of the remote access application to connect each other

For sharing files and Internet between two desktop
---------------------------------------
1) Get a switch / router / hub
2) Three RJ45 cable (straight)
3) Connect both desktop and Internet modem to switch / hub / router
4) configure IP on both desktop system.

Done.

You can use Remote Desktop Connection. Start >> All Programs >> Accessories>> Remote Desktop Connection.
