Linux need help with my wireless internet software

I started using Intel PROSet/Wireless to the internet a few weeks back and its giving me troubles :(

It was fine in the beginning, but now it keeps on getting d/c often. Its connected to my router, but it doesn't transfer any information. I have to keep on pressing "refresh" to get it back to normal. From 54MBPS, its goes down to 24MBPS, and the internet stops working, then i press refresh, and its all cool for 5 mins.

Is there any solution to this? its getting pissing off now!

i got 256kb dsl [wireless]. this connection is shared with 3 laptops and 1 pda. so my bitcomet eats up most of the speed, and because of that, my browsing and msn and all becomes slower, and i keep on refreshing my wireless thing.

solution: switch off your bitcomet :D
OR upgrade your dsl to 512kb

first of all curious why u put the topic in open-source?

AFAIK bitcomet doesn't have a GNU/Linux port & is not open-source so why did u file it here? It should 've either been in networking/internet or general hardware.

oh, and additionally, i do not see any relation between an app that is hogging and your bandwidth and this:

It was fine in the beginning, but now it keeps on getting d/c often. Its connected to my router, but it doesn't transfer any information. I have to keep on pressing "refresh" to get it back to normal. From 54MBPS, its goes down to 24MBPS, and the internet stops working, then i press refresh, and its all cool for 5 mins.

A bandwidth hogging app will only slow down your surfing experience or at worst return a timeout error on your browser, it will not cause your connection to drop randomly ...
