Hi All..
This is for my seagate dockstar...
installed debain..webmin..transmission and samba... need help to set up that
The USB stick i used to install the stuff 2GB one, in that 1 GB is a NTFS partition.
I need to access that from Windows.
I installed the samba.. and mounted the partition to a \Data directory.
which is mounted always (Dir name is Downloads). Then on the share properties
i have added that to WORKGROUP also.
And on browsing the network places in my windows 7 machine i can see the shares.
home(teh default one) and download.
On clicking them i am asked the user name and pwd. i tried my root user and pwd
but no use.
SO i guess i need to figure out the user part only.. i guess
if so can u say how to do it?
I tried converting unix to samba conversion.. but it adds lot of users.. like list and all.. :S..
which i have no idea who they are. and on checking the edit user option.
I get the unix user list. but no root in it either..
help please..
