keyboard- logitech g19

graphics cards- 2X gtx 460 or 2X radeon 6870

Mousepad- Any razor u like to go wit the mouse

Cooler- Noctua nh-d14 instead of the hyper 212 its better suited for ur i7 proccy

1TB hdd prices have dropped to about 2700 bucks so get 2 of seagate 7200.12 1TB in raid 0 for faster performance rather than 1 tb black...

-Since you are going for a gaming rig - a tri-channel ram will not prove to be effective - 5-6% faster is not going to give more than a 5 fps boost

- Since you will be overclocking - I hope its mild OC - a 212+ should suffice your needs.

1)Then he might as well go 1156 if dual channel is enough. No pint getting the 950.. just get a 870 or something and clock the life out of it.:huh:

If you ask me.....Triple channel bandwidth FTW !! by running dual channel you are not going to get the most out of your system ...

2) Get a proper cooler for a I7 chip. Atleast a meghalem , venemous x , noctua or something. Heck id say even the H70 from corsair. But please get a proper cooler. The i7's are hot runners when you have them even mildly overclocked.

PSU - VX 550 may be just enough to run the system, but not enough for an overclocked one on this config. go for atleast HX620 , since you have the budget.

and stick to triple channel ram. get a kit, that would be better. finding another 2gb on a later date with the same timings could be difficult.
 
I feel you should get an X58 setup if you afford it, especially for the budget you have.
