Need info about website designing and maintenance charges

How much does a small time establishment charge for designing a website with about 10 -12 pages, about half of which are static? The rest of the pages will be updated constantly, as and when info is received. I would like to know the designing charges and maintenance charges (for one year), including the charges for domain registration, hosting, etc. A breakup figure would be nice.
 
Domain Charges - Rs.550-Rs.650 + Taxes
Hosting- Depending on your Requirement From Rs.100-Rs.500
Designing Charges - From 5k to anywhere between 15k. Depends on Coder, If you want a Rich look you may have to spend up to 25k.


The last time i asked an Guy to Design a Website for me with 1index,5 sub pages he wanted me to pay 6k. But that deal didn't happen as i was short of some Money!

^^^ It is actually quite costly. I remember my college paying almost 12K for the designing of a very primitive static website, and another 10k for its maintenance for a year.

To get you an Idea..I usually charge around 7.5k for a 5-page static site which includes 1-year of hosting and domain for the said site..Regarding maintaining content on the site and small updates I charge an AMC of say 1.5k to 2k per year.
 
Yes, generally Web Development Companies charges around 1500/- per page for Static Page(SME's) and reputed (read big) companies can charge anywhere starting from 15k or something.

But Freelancers like me take around 3k - 5k (Including Domain + Hosting Charges) for a 4-5 Page Static Web Site.

So if you integrate little bit of PHP and all, it should come around within 6k for Freelancer.

But if you plan to use CMS, it may start from 10k - 15k. Depends on the concept though :)

For a average website with CMS, (from freelancer) consider anything starting from 8k.

The main difference is mostly for...
1. The company name matters, so comes the service, if you don't trust freelancers.
2. Generally freelancers are developers and don't waste on designing (writing own's) CSS, instead they use free template. While companies have designers for creating something specific for you.
 
As we are on the topic I was curious to learn about web designing charges for a website with e-commerce like teaemporium.net. Are web designing charges in this case based on number of pages, time or as a whole contract ?
 
E-Commerce sites are dynamic so if you were to pay per page , you will be bankrupt . They will be handled as a whole site AFAIK .
 
Right. In most case these type of things needs the use of CMS. You won't be able to maintain it on Pay-Per-Page solution.

6k is stupid, install wordpress and design the website on your own.
It'll be dynamic and neat too.

You can host the website for about $15 a year to $40 a year (depends on where you host it)
If you choose Indian servers, you'll end up paying a BOMB as they are costly.
