Laptops Need prices

Now that nobody knows the prices of above mentioned laptops, please suggest something around 30K. max budget is 32K but would like to get the lappy for as less as possible. What I need:

1- 15" to 16" screen preferred. Portability is secondary concern.

2- Decent battery

3- Usage: Movies, music, storing pictures, internet, MS-Word. No Gaming, No Photoshop or any other heavy computing tasks.

4- Ability to play DVDs flawlessly would be great. But I doubt if any other laptop than Acer 4530 (with Nvidia's 9100m) series can do that in less than 32K budget.

I am not much of a laptop man... so seriously need the inputs here.

Also, if any good soul (and dealers) on TE have some offer for me (including those tempting deals from people with Dell connections) please PM me with the deal details.

Yep... acer seems to be the best bet. When you say here, you mean Mumbai. Right?

That DVD thing was meant to be HD content...:ashamed: too many slips nowadays

1. Pune actually :)

2. HD content the 9100 on the 4530 will give you a definite edge, but even other notebooks will handle it fine, only it may be CPU decode instead of GPU decode. So some extra CPU usage, but HD content will playback fine, no issues there.

Went to the market today. So the contenders are:

LG Xnote RD510 @ Rs 31000
T3200 @ 2Ghz
2GB RAM (800Mhz)
160GB HD
Intel GL40 Gfx
15.4" Screen
2.7KG

Impression: Slim but build quality wasn't that great. Ran Vista performance index tool and the score was 3.1. This was the gfx score. The score of CPU, RAM, HD were all above 4.5. I have no idea about LG aftersales.

LCD TV, Plasma TV,Colour Television, Audio Video,Computer Products,Mobile Phone,Refrigerator, Washing Machine,Vacuum Cleaner,Microwave Oven,Air Conditioner, CAC Products by LG Electronics India
Acer 4370Z @ Rs 31,000

T3200 @ 2Ghz
2GB RAM (667Mhz)
160GB HD
Intel GL40 Gfx
14.1" Screen
2.4KG
Impression: Build quality seems quite good. Not in the league of HP or mid-end Lenovos, but better than LG. I have no idea about Acer aftersales, so people here need to shade some light on this.

160GB HD
GeForce® 9100M Gfx
14.1" Screen
2.4KG

Acer dealer told me that with 4530, i will get around 20 to 30 minutes of less battery time as compared to 4730Z.

Now I need inputs from you guys

AFAIK
4530 is a good performer at that pricepoint
Check out the review in the Reviews Section, might help :)
Saw that... I think I will get the 4730Z. In any case, this is for a friend and there won't be any gaming on it. Extended battery life a a tad little more CPU power will help in general use I suppose.

Thanks all for valuable suggestions :)
