Need suggestions for new wi-fi router

I am looking to buy a new wi-fi router,i have following requirements:

1.Wi-fi internet access across PC,Laptop.phone when PC is ON

2.File sharing across laptop,phone from external USB HDD over wi-fi when PC is off.

i found asus wl-520gu can it serve this purpose?

does it support ntfs HDD?

Yes you will need to install DD wrt to get best out of that router

i already searched about ddwrt but i'm worreied about ntfs and usb 2.0 support

If you want ntfs support forget Dd wrt it supports but speeds are not good

Requirements: internet+file sharing from usb HDD over wi-fi.

Get ASUS RT N13U, and convert your HDD to ext3 format.

Else get a seperate router of your choice and a NAS like device from Addonics which was retailing for ~4K, this will support NTFS OOTB.

what about getting a raspberry-pi + wi-fi router?

You should rather get GoFlex Net or PogoPlug if your requirement is filesharing , configuring rasberry pi wont be easy if you are not hands on linux.
