PC Peripherals need suggestions on a config for my new rig

hi every one this is my first post and i have stumbled upon the site while doing some research for my new rig..... following the template renegard provided.... is the config ok , can some one give me a better config, also any one from hyderabad can u give me the quote on this rig from any of the good stores in ctc and also advice me on the cost i could bargain with the guy.....

2 external hard drives (wd 1tb and wd 500gb)

3. GPU - Zotac GTS250 (512mb)

4. cabin : CM Elite 335

5. smps : Corsair VX450w

6. hdd : WD5000AAKS (500gb)/ Seagate 7200.11

7. monitor : Samsung 2033

8. DVD rw : LG

9. UPS: APC 500va

10. keyboard : Logitech or microsoft

All the above config is good for ya,
But Consider changes here:

. GPU - Zotac GTS250 (512mb) - > HD 4770/4870
. hdd : WD5000AAKS (500gb) -> Seagate 7200.11 (Performance Enhancements).
 
I don't see any RAM mentioned there...
+1 to shahbaaz's suggestion, get a better GPU if budget permits(4870 or so would be ideal), and the HD 4770 over the GTS if you find them to be in the same price ball park. Rest of the config looks fine.
 
Though ubuntu does support most of the ati cards easily(4770 is difficult), in general nvidia cards are a better bet if you need to use different linux distributions(like current fedora version, which would not support 3d on ati cards).

i heard from some tech guys and also from the above post by haraakiri that NVidia are more compatible with linux than Ati, so went for GTS 250.....

about the hdd will place seagate as an option.....

And can any one from hyderabad give the price variation like how much more i have chip in if i go with a Ati card
 
sapphire 4850 vs palit gts 250 shouldn't be more than 800. Should be less than that. You could pm me if you need details of shops in ctc.
 
If your work is related to video encoding/playing GTA4,Far Cry 2/Multiple Virtual System etc. Otherwise an X2 550 will satisfy you very much. :)
