Need to upgrade my Video Card, heading to Nehru Place tomorrow... please help!

So my 18 month old (I think) MSI 8800GT has been shot to hell, and I need to upgrade.

My Complete Rig:

CPU - Athlon X2 6000+ (need to replace)
Motherboard - Asus M2N-E (need to replace)
GPU - MSI 8800GT (512 MB) (need to replace)
RAM - Kingston 4X1GB DDR2-666
DVDR Drive- Dead (need to replace)
Monitor - BenQ 2200
SMPS - Generic 500w
Cooling - none (need to add some fans, etc - need suggestions...)

Budget: 25k
My initial choice was a GTX 460 but, I guess the CPU is going to end up being a bottleneck.

SO.... with a budget of 25k, could you guys suggest what/how I should do this upgrade? The GTX 460 is going to set me back about 14k, which leaves me with 11k for the Processor + Motherboard + DVDR Drive + Cooling to play with.
Am planning to head to Nehru Place tomorrow - anyone who can recommend a trusted dealer who would give a good deal + put the whole rig together would be appreciated (I haven't been to Nehru Place too much before, as you can probably tell) :)

Thanks
Kiran

The processor that u have will terribly bottleneck any DX11 card which costs 8k+. Better change the setup and go for a better proccy.

Better follow this format as it gives us a much better insight into ur needs.

Yes if you are talking about Corsair VX450 than Yes it is enough to handle GTX 200 series
A generic 450 W means an el cheapo brand PSU not a Corsair VX 450 W

If you are talking about al cheapo 450 watts than no...I tried 8800gt on my al cheapo 400 watts and my PSU blasted lol.

Fortunately my gpu was still working..So dont take that risk and go for some good PSU dude.

I think you can go for VX 450

25k

sell of the current components.

Get more money. Your current cpu gpu mobo should get you around 6-6.5k odd. Rams around 3.5k max. So total comes around 9-9.5k

For 35k you can get

vx450 3.7k

x2 555be 4.9k

gigabyte 785gmt usb3 5.7k

4gb corsair xms3 / gskill f3 rams 1333mhz 5k odd

dvd writer LG 1k

msi gtx 460 cyclone 13.75k

The above total comes to 34k odd.

I am in a hurry...But still can give you a faint suggestion...

Motherboard : Gigabyte GA-MA790GP-UD4H = 5.5k

Processor : Phenom II X2 555 Black Edition = 5k

Graphic Card : Zotac GTX 460 768mb (stock ) =10.7k

PSU/SMPS : Corsair VX450 = 3.8k

Total : 25k

Anyways You have to change your psu/smps.....thats a major part of a RIG

Hope this helped......

Thanks everyone for all the help.

1. Any suggestions how/where I can sell my parts? The Members Market, or anywhere else? Should I sell it to Nehru Place guys itself?

2. Any particular people/contacts you may know in NP?

3. I was thinking about getting the Athlon II X4 635 over the Phenom II... which performs better/which should I get?

4. When upgrading all of the above, would a re-format be necessary or can I continue using my hard-drives (2 of them) as is?
My list so far looks like this:
1. SMPS - Corsair VX450 - 3700

2. Processor - Athlon II X4 635 / Phenom X2 555 Black Ed - 5100

3. Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-MA-785GMT-US2H - 5000

4. Video Card - MSI N GTX 460 1GB - 13600

5. RAM - 4gb corsair xms3 / gskill f3 rams 1333mhz - 5000

6. Intake Fan + Exhaust Fan (120mm) ---> Rs.800

7. DVDR Drive - 1000
34,200.. ouch... but kinda worth it if I sell the parts. Know anyone who would be willing to buy?

Sell off these things first :

CPU - Athlon X2 6000+ (need to replace)

Motherboard - Asus M2N-E (need to replace)

GPU - MSI 8800GT (512 MB) (need to replace)

RAM - Kingston 4X1GB DDR2-666

Should be getting a fair amout of money....approx 12k
