12. Q: Are you looking to overclock?
No

Windows 7 64 bit

CPU - PhenomII X4 945~7k
Motherboard - Gigabyte 785GMT-USB3/MSI 880GMA-E45~5.7k
RAM 2GB ~ Corsair 1333MHz ~ 2.5k
PSU ~ Corsair VX450 ~ 3.7k
Cabinet ~ CM Elite 310 ~ 1.5k
DVD RW SATA DVD-Writer ~ LG/Samsung/ Sony OEM's ~ 1k

Total: ~20.5k

So depending on the budget get a MSI HD5770 Hawk 1GB GDDR5 ~ 9.3k/ POV GTX460 768MB ~ 11k/ Zotac GTX460 1GB GDD5 ~ 13k

AMD processsors are good and offer more value in the mid range section than intel ones. Plus at the same price points AMD mobos have USB 3.0 and/or SATA 6Gbps ports which will make ur connectivity options future proof.

Both the mobos have a IDE port and so use the existing HDD so that u can invest on the rest.

for intel

core i3 - 530 Rs5400

Intel DH55TC Rs.4700

addition to above config

buy corsair cx400 and 4gb ram instead of 2gb.

and ati 5770 can play every game at mid level settings.

@ Dark angel is it good to go for amd phenom 2x4 955 BE by adding 500 rs.
its for 7.5k?.....definitely worth for 500 but afaik it retails for 8k odd and its better only if you are gonna overclock.

To summarize this is what you should settle for,

Processor : AMD Phenom II Quad X4 - 955 BE (3.2GHz, 8M, AM3) Rs.7500 (latest revision one with lesser TDP)
Motherboard : MSI 880GMA-E45 Rs.5400
RAM : Corsair Value Select 2GB 240-Pin DDR3 1333 Desktop Memory Rs. 2300
HDD : 500GB WD Blue Rs.2000
GPU : MSI Hawk HD5770 1GB GDDR5 Rs.9000
Cabinet : CM Elite(IMP!! add extra 120mm fan) Rs.1700
SMPS: Corsair VX 450 Rs.3700
ODD : Samsung/L.G. GH22NS50 OEM SATA DVD-Writer Rs.950

Thanks for the valuable information.
If I want to go for a better card than HD 5770, Which is a better GPU to choose - HD 5830 or GTX 460 (within the 13-14k budget) ?

Lot of reviews in the net suggest, if we decide to buy GTX 460 it is better to add a little extra buck and buy a 1 GB card, so it is future proof. Any comments?
Again I have to make a choice between Zotac or MSI cyclone for 1GB GTX 460. You Comments Please?
One last question if I decide to go for 1 GB GTX 460 and want to overclock my processor AMD 955 BE, will the Corsair VX450 be sufficient?

The i3 - 530 is a horrible overpriced CPU can go for a Phenom II 555 Black Edition and get better results, more overclockability too
and the Intel motherboard is so spartan in its feature set, and is not even full solid capacitor support so no good for a mid range gaming rig

Final summary the AMD deal is much more better and well within budget and performance

Hi

I could not the find a MSI 880GMA-E45. Instead the store sales guy offer these boards

Asus Board M4A87TD/USB3 @ 5700

Asus Board M4A88TD V EVO @ 7400

Asus Board M4A88TD M EVO @ 6300

Asus Board M4A89GTD-PROU3 @ 10100. I read thru some bad reviews on these ASUS boards. Like the mounting screw won't fit the board & A higher end graphics card covers another pci slot because they are so close together.

Any comments please? Which of these is a good one?
